Flames would be -blam!-. Green is my favorite colour, so I like it.

Only douche nozzles put flames on cars, these are the same people that won't shut up about "NOS" and like cars like camaros. It's so unoriginal and lame, when ever I see flames (all the time) i want to lock on to them and kill them with a rocket. Besides, dick, he's a spartan not a teen icon.

He's green, because it is a way of comoflading the MC. I think, kinda, not sure.

Why green? Its because the master chief is in the marines and the marines (i think) generaly wear a mostly green outfit for combat.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Master Chief is a rank of the US Navy.

I believe the opalescent green color of MC's armor is due to the materials it is made out of, but the green could also serve as a camouflaging color as well.

Edit: The real reason MC is green is because the Security Officer from Marathon is green and MC just wants to be like the SO.

Im not sure, but I am willing to go out on a limb by saying that MC is 'sage' because Bungie found it to be a fitting color for combat. I personally would love to see him in pink...but thats just me. :/

Oil isn't black at first. It's clear tan color depending on what brand name/grade of oil (I'm a mechanic). The very small metal particles created by an engine as it wears is what turns oil black. Anyway...

The master chief is green becuase anyone who knows anything about ground force troops knows that green is the usual camo color. Other than desert or snow conditions, they're always in green.
