1.7 P4, with 640 MB RAM, and a 9600XT, what do you think my optimal settings should be for online play? I know 1240x 800 works fine on single player, bit online lags a bit.

800x600, specular and lighting disabled, that'll set up fast frame rates and no lag.

I agree with sexy. (did that sound -blam!-?) anyway I think you are the first person I have seen with 640 MB of ram. I knew it was possible its just a rare total at least from my experience. But mine isn't very common either so I guess I should just shut up.

The original 128MB ram that came with it + 2 256MB clips I added = 640MB

Lol, my friend has a Falcon Northwest with 4 gigs of PC4000. I think the cost of the pc is $8000. However, he got it from his uncle who works at Valve, the people who made HL2. Lucky little [expletives deleted]....

4GB is the highest amount of ram you could get with a 32-bit cpu (true?). And is insane. Unless he works at, like pixar, and is rendering animation on the fly.
Also, you remind me of the G5, which, as a 64-bit processor, has shattered the 4GB RAM barrier. YES!!!!!

Yeah, hence why Apple's are used a lot by graphical design companies. They generally have the hardware best suited to animation and 3d/2d design.
