a very straight forward thread and poll. I would like to know how many people like useing power ups and how many people dont like them at all. Me for one, i hate power ups. I find it kinda stupid because there is no skill in useing powers up at all. I wouldnt mind in SP but MP no.

No, because they suck. The invisibility only works if there really far away from you and the overshield loses power and is cheap.

Actually, there is a lot of skill and strategy in using and acquiring powerups. Good players know how to control the map (including power ups and heavy weapons). CAL Assault matches on HaloPC are won and lost in the middle of the map where the powerups and heavies spawn. If you're going to say powerups are cheap, you might as well take out weapons like the rocket launcher. The fact is, the powerups (and heavy weapons) are there for anyone to use. It's not unfair (or cheap) if your opponent knows how to dominate the map and you don't.

It would be interesting to see how strats and tactics would change if powerups were left out of Halo 2. It would definately shift the focus more toward straight up combat tactics instead of combat tactics and map control (although heavy weapon spawns would still be key areas to control).

Invisiblility, when used well, can come in handy when dealing with poor guards in CTF games and when using the sniper rifle at great distances.
Overshield is pretty cheap though but at least it slowly depletes itself on mp games

I don't like it when I shoot something at someone that would normally kill someone, not. Like in Blood Gulch, I hate it when I fire my sniper rifle at his head, that would result in an instant kill, fail, and then have him hide behind something.
