I've had it for quite some time, and I like it. I like how you can pick your gender and skin color; it allows for a more diverse fanbase. I also liked the cutscenes.. very rarely do games offer good voice acting on them, but the ones in Deus Ex: I.W. are pretty effin' close, I might say.

And lastly, I enjoyed how much there was to do in each stage. Seattle alone took forever for me.. I'm pretty -blam!- about gaming perfection.. but then I got to the point where you switch locations. Well, you do this a few times! It's not as quite as in depth as Morrowind, say, but it's got a good-sized load of stuff to do with different solutions for each problem.

DX:IW doesn't hold a candle to the original, though. i was really disappointed with it to be honest.

I liked the original and the second one. DX: IW took my forever, though..... at the Templar hangar in Cairo the second time that you're there it took my about 20 tries. It seems like the templar route is easiest, but I did ApostleCorp.

I rented the game when it first came out and didnt like it. It has really cool concepts, but the thing that turned me off was that it was a little to non-linear.

I beat it a while ago, but it really is dirt compared to the original. If you can get past the dated graphics, you'll find what is probably the best single-player experience you'll ever have in Deus Ex 1. IW was kind of an afterthought - the original took me 40 hours to beat on normal, whereas the second installment only took about 6. Oh, and WidowMkr, Deus Ex is more linear but still offers a rich environment you can explore for hours and gives you many choices (4 endings including the secret one), just not which side you're on.
