Does anyone think that the flashlight is a bit low tech for halo, and they should have night vision or light amplification like on the sniper rifle.

agreed night vision is no fun and the flash light comes in handy when going aganist the flood. just put it on whenever the combat form gonna jump.

They could at least give the flash light more range.

I'm in favour of night vision myself. It would make the MC stand out a bit more from a regular human, as well as be in accordance with what's taken up in the novels. Not much point to giving your permission to stories where the MC has superior strength, reflexes and eyesight compared to a normal, well-trained human, if you plan on making him perform about the same as one of them in-game.

im in favor of a more powerful flashlight. if you start to give MC all this cutting edge equipment and raise him to a level of indistructability, the game wont be fun any more; it'll be too easy. i dont wnat to play the legendary setting and be able to walk through it like it was set on normal.

Well, the way I see it, it would be better to make the MC more capable as well as making his enemies more capable. I'd like to think of the MC as an extremely skilled person superior to most other humans, and not just a lucky guy who happens to have a very good suit of armour.

Exactly. Sorry guys, but if you had that armour and you were part cyborg for chrissakes, you sure would feel gyped if you didnt have some kind of night vision enhancment. In 500 years, I'd be willing to bet that everyone and thier dog could have something like that. I mean, in Iraq almost every soldier has a personal set of night vision goggles, why would'nt a Spartan?

Just make the enemies smarter, or have the range, field of vision limited a little. It could be balanced out right.

That's what i've been thinking about too. In the book, he can change the visor to filter out the darkness and tell the difference between a tree and a hunter. The Flashlight was a pretty good touch though.

They call it light amplification, same thing. But flashlights that have a 5 foot range seems very low tech, even though they have ships that can travel at the speed of ligh.

LOL yeah you're right. MC just needs a stronger flashlight. Night Vision works on sme games but not HALO2.( EXCLUDING THE SNIPER RIFLE NIGHT VISION) Take DELTA FORCE- Black Hawk Down for example, you can walk into a dark room see pretty well, but when you go outside it kinda degrades a bit, so when you're walking along in just a dark corridor and its complete Daylight outside keep in mind that Night Vision doesn't always work so you could be picking up tons of enimies on youre radar then you turn to night vision, BOOM Hunter KILLS YOU! LOL NIGHT VISION.... Epert & Roper Give It " TWO THUMBS DOWN!"

Speaking of scary games, I just played Silent Hill the other day, and DAMN, I nearly wet myself when those killer babies appeared.

edit: headcrabs frighten me.

The light definitely needs more power. Also, if it is mounted on the Chief's shoulder, it shouldn't move when reloadind like it did in Halo.
