Stealth is a good thing, but too much of a good thing is bad! I have played Jedi Outcast and there is one level where you must not be detected. If you are detected, you don't have a chance to fight your way out, you just die. I hated this. : ( My question is this: Should stealth be like this in Halo 2 or should it only be an advantage? As in, you shold sneak past a group of a hundered Brutes, but if someone sees you, it doesn't go to some stupid cutscene, but lets you try to fight your way out. Please discuss.

No, it's a first person shooter. You should be able to if you want to, but stealth being required would never work with a fps.

I know, I just wanted to see what the poll results would be. I did this a while back, and I want to see if opinion has changed.

Stealth could be incorparated to a certain degree. As Rahdigan sed u should be able to figure our own way out if u screw it. OR run away. watever. But yea. Ive been playin Splinter Cell and i really like it but its a completely different style so it wouldnt work if it was required often.

Halo 3 and Reach FTW, the beta's were awesome
People with guns don't kill people, Elites with guns kill people.

I don't thin some people understand. The first two options include stealth, just at different degrees. If you pick the second, stealth is there, but you are not dead if discovered. I hate it when you have no options.

I think it will just be an option. They say you can shoot the lights out so no one will see you. But the enemies will use flashlights to fin you. Or, you can go in guns blazing

It's just that stealth is nearly impossible to do in a fps. All stealth games are 3rd person.

I definetly don't think Halo 2 should be a stealth game. I just think it should have some stealth in it.

One of the best things about Halo was your freedom to choose any approach you'd like to beat the game. Sure, you still had a mission, but you could do it any way you want to. If you HAD to use stealth it would really suck. No freedom. Even on the Assault on the Control Room, in the part with all the sleeping grunts, you didn't have to use stealth, but it helped a lot. However, as I have said before, I still think there should be a MP map dedicated for pure stealth.

One part in AotCR, right after the tank part when you go into the building, you can kill all the enemies in the room by stealth. Kill the elites, then kill the 50+ grunts, all by stealth. Or you can go in guns ablazing and kill everything that way. Thats what I want in H2, optional stealth.

I agree that stealth should be an option too. I liked the combination of both, that's why I stopped playing games like games like Rainbow Six, because in games like that, you don't have that option, you have to use stealth. I think that if stealth really is and option, there should be silent weapons in Halo 2. I think that it would be cool to put a multiplayer level with no weapons, using hand-to-hand combat in in the game.

its optional, if you play halo on easy you can just run and gun but on legendary you can use a bit o' sneaky to break an elites spine if your good. I dunno about halo 2 but bungie said it was optional, if you think you need to use stealth, do it. If not, then don't

I like to use stealth in Halo, good examples being sneaking in the rooms on AotCR, hitting sleeping Grunts and partolling Elites. The great thing is the fact you don't have to do this but you can if you want.
Halo 2 should stay that way, where sometimes it'd be wise to be stealthly but if you prefer you can use the ol guns blazing technique

You hit one of my biggest complaints about halo. The lack of silenced guns. I understand it would be -blam!--erotic(just a figure of speech) to have silenced guns in MP but it would help in the single player especially in legendary. I hate when I HAVE to shoot a guy and there is no way to do it without the rest hearing it, not like you ever had a chance to go 5 miles around them without them spotting you, so fake. That's why the human armadas get obliterated because they can't sneak for poo!
