OK so I fired up Halo today and went to some random server, and the first kill I got on this guy named [BV]Leader he calls bot. So he starts spewing hate and I told him to sitejack me, and guess what he says? "I aleady did". Somehow he sitejacked me in the five seconds after I join and killed him with the rocket launcher that was laying at my feet, I doubt that.

At the end of the game he says and I quote "I'm gunna catch all you botters and stop you".

Frankly the people who scream aimbot when someone gets a lucky kill is worse than the actual aimbotters. And the people who actually sitejack their suspects whether they're guilty or not are morons who have nothing better to do than "police" a video game.

For all the people who try to be the Halo PD, please find something better to do than worry about a video game. You are worse than the cheaters.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

fun story. I got banned from "ioi" for getting a head shot on the admin while jumping. The people who ban everyone who kills them with a headshot are way worse than actual cheaters.

When I played I would use the chat disable app while playing. Since I upgraded to the patch I noticed a lot of people yelling "BAWT BAWT HE BAWTS"

Honestly I don't care and still ignore them. I find it funner to watch them make up stuff every time they get killed.

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition

I think sightjacking is fine if you are an admin and you use it to keep the botters out of your server. But any random noob who yells "bot" and CLAIMS to sj you is just a pain in the ass.

Most botters have no skill, (other than the ability to hs you at will), and you can usually beat them. Someone with lethal aim is another deal– they usually have all the skills needed to pwn.

I thought it was funny, 2 hours after the patch was installed and some kid on a no shields server was calling me a bot. First he calls me a bot, runs around on boarding action with my flag. He stops on top with flag shown, inches foward standing still every little bit and once he's visible I shoot. Sure enough he goes "see you bot" and then leaves.

If following a visible flag is botting then any base defender should be a "bot." =P

Its really hard to keep a server clean without sightjacker though... From what I heard someone on another forum is working on one and he's posted videos but any actual program has yet to be seen.

H1 and Halo Custom edition name: madkiller92
xfire:madkiller92

Some person names [IT§]§N1P£R kept calling me an aimbot, yesterday, I kept getting 3 headshot kills, I was continuisly called an aimbot, I even got banned fomr a cmt_snow_grove non-dedi sever for a headshot with the sniper. (That and advertising my sever)

And the T in his clan tag was an enter sign.

The problem with sitejacker is that the person who's using it is already biased against the person he's using it on. People see what they want to see and it's probably not hard to edit a video to make it look incriminating.

Sitejacker isn't the cure all most people make it out to be. In fact it seems like a pretty poor form of proof. Being able to check the suspects memory for an aimbot running in the background would be a better way.

As long as the aimbots are available on the internet, someones going to use them, no matter how many you ban there will always be more.

Honestly... you're going to get arguements on both ends as far as whats good and whats bad.

Programs that check memory are a bad idea since programs are easily recoded and non aimbotters have been accidentally been shut out by them. Plus, if I remember correctly most of these are client side programs if they are implemented and thus can be altered themselves.

On the other hand, I won't deny that there are some server admins who do a poor job of maintaining their servers whether it be for bots, wall hacks, team stackers, or even long term afks. What usually helps though is those servers who do use sightjacker and "patrol" their servers correctly are usually the more popular ones to play on.

It really all comes down to "people make mistakes" and "A program is only as good as the person who programmed it." The best thing to do is make rules to try and reduce user error.

One of my favorite rules is if you don't think the person you want to sightjack someone is unbiased, in a private chat asking if they can see if <Player name> is afk or some other lame excuse. It'll sure do less damage than screaming "OMG BOTZORZ BANT!" =P

I don't have too much experience with activision games, but punk buster I think isn't bad, and doesn't take up too many system resources running in the background.
Anyway, if you suspect a bot, the last thing you should be doing is yelling it to everyone; it'll only make your suspect a lot more cautious.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Sightjacker doesnt work with 1.08, so he was bs anyway.

I agree I've never had a problem with PB on BF1942 except for sometimes having to download a seperate update.

Well I was correct for at least a few days. :)

Nice to see it updated. It would be nice if someone could lay everything on the table. What bots work, which ones don't...etc.

my problem with PB is its a resource hog. I tried playing combat arms for a bit (wayyyy too buggy in the end) but before I stopped I was in love with the anti hacking program not starting when windows did. It's made Battlefield games and CoD less enjoyable from the hassle, even though it might have stopped a couple cheaters.

And Obi, isn't it SIGHTjacker? Man, it's been awhile since I've posted on these forums.

it makes everyone look like a hacker anyway. Screens get all shaky and stuff... it's a good tool, but not perfect.
