I know we are all led to believe that Foehammer died in her precious beat up pelican on The Maw, but you never actually see her crash. And i mean come on, Sarge dies almost every level, at least every level that hes on and he manages to come back for another battle. Post your thoughts. Is she really dead?

New Is Foehammer Really Dead?

Yes, there's not a chance in hell she survived. It would be impossible.

  • 04.20.2004 2:29 PM PDT

Before you continue to read, please not that the following message contains story-spoiling(aka SPOILERS) of Halo: First Strike the book. Continue at your own RISK!

Anyway, at the begining of Halo: First Strike, Master Chief and Cortana found a number of survivors of Halo. I will say there were a number of them including Sgt. Johnson (I can say him because he's in Halo 2!), but i won't say anything else.

Ummm no Foehammer didnt survive. If she did, give the page number in the book(s).

If you wont say anything in this thread will you please PM me with the info. I don't have any money right now so I wont be reading the last two books for a while

  • 04.20.2004 2:36 PM PDT

Ok, I'm just going to kill this right now. Foe Hammer died on the Maw, we all watched it happen. She's dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead. Dead.

Uhh, Foehammer was definitely NOT part of the survivors. Reread the book.

Furthermore, it is impossible even from a Halo1 point of view. Her vehicle is burning and crashes into the landscape. Instants later the entire Halo explodes. She is definitey dead.

Oh, and for those that read First Strike, think about the lack of slipspace generators in a pelican. And then think about the fact that foehammer can't take her own covenant cruiser by herself. Yeah, chances are 1 in NEVER. :-)

Starwind- the story is long as crap. But, believe me, the story is good. We just gave up the beginning, but suffice to say there are a lot of space battles going on in First Strike, and the brute is pretty bad ass.

But every creature is badass the first time the spartans meet it. think about it- every time a group of spartans meets a new creature one spartan dies. With the jackals it was Sam(I think), with Elites it was that guy with the needler in his back...

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Foehammer is Carol Rawley, NOT Polaski. Please, try and read the books correctly...

The cockpit exploded. She's dead. End of story. Even if she didn't die in the explosion and managed to escape the Covenant that were in the Banshees, the destruction of Halo finished her off.

Cortana: Echo 419, two Covenant banshees are approaching on your six. Evade, say again, evade!

Echo 419: (Says something I can't exactly remember, then...) Airfoil structures are shot to hell. I can't hold her. I can't hold her!

Cortana: Echo 419! She's gone.

Me: The -blam!-pit exploded.

The word got filtered out... since it would happen again if I retyped it, I'll just say what it was. I was refering to the place where the pilot/copilot sits.... Funny that that got filtered out...

Alright first of all, you dont see foehammer crash into the landscape, she turns the corner before she crashes so you never actually see her crash, second of all if you shoot down the banshees no one is there to finish her off cause they attack you after she turns the corner, third of all, is everyone is so bent on foehammer dying, why didnt sarge die? he was hugging the elite at the end. Why isnt he "without a doubt" dead. fourth of all the game IS NOT the book. for instance, the AR in the book freakin tears people apart, when in fact, (unless you are on easy and are killing grunts) the AR sucks. Finally, maybe she and the sarge are cousins and have the same ability to live after being killed almost every level. you never know.

Sarge didn't die simply because we see him in the Halo 2 trailer and he appears in First Strike. Also, the books and the game are tied very closely. The AR in the book is a beast of a weapon, capable of mowing down tons of enemies and cutting through elites shields with one clip. Even on legendary, if you are close to an elite, you can take him out with one clip of the AR - the problem is that Elites fight back. You just need to elevate your game.

I seriously doubt Foehammer survived. She was an awesome character and I hated to see her go, but she wasn't among the survivors in First Strike, so I doubt it. That's not to say it's impossible (Cortana didn't pick up any survivors but some did make it off), but it's improbable. The only way to know for certian is to play Halo 2.

She couldnt of lived! even if she did make it out of the ring on a pelican how would she get back to home? it says in the book that pelicans are not able to enter slipspace. and if she made it on to the covenant ship that the master chief stole it would of said so in the book. therefore shes dead, not comin back!! i never liked her anyway!

In the books the AR tears through an elite with "a quick three round burst." not in the game. And who said that Foehammer had to travel back to earth? Maybe she was already on the Ascendant Justice when the cheif got on board.. Maybe she was piloting the Justice the whole time. Or maybe shes floating out in the cold vaccuum of space in a cryotube like those people were in the book. Shes not dead.

WHat are you talkin about?!!?!?! Thats crazy! Cortana was wrong. If you read FS then you would know that htere were some humans left. Foe hammer could have done something very similar to them, such as attach to another asteroid or piece of debris. SHE IS IMPORTANT, i dont knnow why, but she seemed like the type.

Saying that Foehammer is alive is like saying private Johnson didn't get turned into the Flood
