Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Halo PC is a laggy game. If you want to get rid of the map change crash bug, get Halo Custom Edition.

Maybe you need to try selective startup. It's the only thing I can think of right now.

If your new PC has Vista thats probably your problem
I had to turn down my settings.. I suggest turning off Decals, having them on caused me to lag like none other. Maybe the new patch will help

H1 and Halo Custom edition name: madkiller92
xfire:madkiller92

A not very good graphics card? My old PCs have integrated intels and single-Celeron processors, they're incredibly laggy, and almost always crash on normal halo 1's map changes.

even with custom edit. my pc still had the same problems...unfortunately it didnt turn on the next day and a month later when it did turn on, there was a red, bloody "X" where the hd avatar should be.

better luck to u.
