Seems to me that there are just too many icons during Halo 2 (especially multiplayer) gameplay in the HUD. There's an icon for pretty much everything in Halo 2 (from what I've seen). There's the blue, yellow, and orange icons relaying weapon info just below your reticle. There are icons for the direction from which you are getting bullet hosed, for the flag in CTF, for your allies, and of course the ever irritating, "Hold X to ...", "Hold Y to ...", "You picked up a ...", "You killed ...". And of course you have to have your health/shield monitor and ammunition display (for dual wielding too) as well as target tracker. Does anyone else think that all of these "improvements" might make actually playing the game a tad more frustrating, especially with split screen? I don't mind having some of them in the game, but I really don't need to be reminded that I need to hold X to pick up the energy sword. And I know that if I fire 1 rocket, I only have one left in the chamber. Perhaps Bungie will make it so that you can select and deselect which you wish to utilize. Does anyone else see these sorts of additions as excessive and needless? Thoughts and comments are appreciated.
