All of these arguments about why Halo1 is better than Halo2 just sounds to me like what EVERY gaming community has gone through. Quake3 had these kind of debates when it came to implementing Quake1 and Quake2 weapons, physics, gametypes, etc.
Counter-strike has also had a lot of this argument. Physics, gameplay, weapons, movement, gameplay, etc.
Just realize that companies USUALLY don't change the game because of the "elite" group of players, because typically those are the minority of players and they want to provide the majority (lesser players) with a game to enjoy.
Halo1 was great and I wish there was a few aspects that were in Halo2 (like the gametypes.. the old assult was so much more fun).
Halo1 levels would also be greatly appriciated. Just for FFA and small team games.
If you want to make this a great game, just take what was great about halo1 that can't be ARGUED. Aka, don't change the physics, the vehicles, or gameplay physics.
DO change the fact that we DON'T have the Halo1 maps for Halo2.
DO change the fact that the new assult gametype SUCKS.
DO change the fact that it is SO easy to cheat in Halo2.
DO change Coagulation. Also, having team fiesta in team slayer is a joke.
Also, I was wondering, how do you guys think it'll go down with the PC port? If the Halo2 PC port was even halfway decent (which Halo1 pc port in my eyes, was not) do you think it will replace Xbox Halo2 at CPL ?
Also, what about a mouse versus controller.
Halo2 is BUILT for a controller, but will Halo3 be built with mice users in mind as well? The game would be DRASTICALLY changed if it were played with mice. I personally enjoy either one. Halo2 right now is great with a controller, but only because it was BUILT FOR IT. If Halo3 were to come out and there was an option for no auto aim and smooth mouse movement, I personally would switch over. The game would be MUCH more competetive.
