Hi everyone. I would like to build my own gaming computer. Anyone have any suggestions on the best possible computer i can build? Price is not an issue-i am very very rich (I have high paying job). All i care is about maximum gaming performance with jaw-dropping graphics that look so good, they will make me cry. I am also not sure what sound equipment to buy, and what monitor I should get. Another question, what is best possible gaming laptop availabe (price not issue, same as above)? Thanks.

I currently have
P4 1.2 ghz
256 MB ram
8 mb video ram

Well, if you absolutely have money to burn, a dual xeon system would kick like no one's business.

However, that's actually wasted power and money...trust me, even if you have the money it's still not it.

Socket 939 Athlon 64 FX-53
Asus A8N SLI
2x BFG 6800 Ultra PCI-express
2x512MB of PQI Turbo 2-2-2-5 timing PC3200 (trust me, even though it's DDR400, I have gotten it to go faster than very good DDR550....)
2x74GB WD Raptor 10k-rpm hard drives
DVD-ROM/CD-RW 52x
DVD+/-RW 16x Double Layer
600 watt Ultra X-Connect
A damn good case with craploads of fans!
Zalman Copper CPU Cooler/Arctic Silver 5 paste

Killer setup, there. That will get you 9000+ points on 3d Mark 05, and will burn up anything you throw at it :o

Wow, Davis. That's a pretty nice computer.

It's possible to go faster, but that would probably put you in the $4000 range, and I don't think anyone would want to do that.

If you got four sticks of 512MB RAM, I think you could get it faster. Also, Get a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sound card and some matching 5.1 or 6.1 speakers from Creative Labs.
