you need to download killdisk to wipe your harddrive. it will allow you to create 3 1/2" floppy that whe you boot off of will launch a program to completly delete everything on your harddrive.
yopu know how whenever you leave a floppy in the diskdrive while the computer turns on, it gives you a message that says something about the flopy disk not being a system disk? well it you leave in a kill disk disk, it will load a program that is stored on the disk insted of windows. that way, your harddrive is unused and can be completly erased
or are you asking fo a less severe punishment to your computer?

Heyyo,

Whoa boys! I don't think he wants to reformatt his HD. :p

Does your floppy drive actually light up when you try to access it? if not then your power cable for it is probably lose, if it does light up? check the IDE cable going into the comp, it could be lose or have fallen out. If still no luck? try a different ide cable, cause it could be faulty.

If that doesn't work? try a diff floppy drive, caude the drive could be faulty itself.

If still no luck? well, could be your mobo IDE slot is damaged, or a setting in your bios. so go in your bios and check your settings for your floppy drive. you can try tunning on those floppy settings like that swap one n' such, shouldn't damage it if they're on or off, it just might mean it won't work is all. :)

if you still need help, post here after attempting everything I said.
