He also said, and I paraphrase, "The Needler will be a weapon you look for, not one you use as a fancy boxing glove."

I think that's what he said. Anyway, he did say that the Needler will be a better weapon, though he didn't bother to elaborate any more than that.

From what were told, we can handle a gun in each hand -- which wont allow you to use your grenade. Makes sense being as the control *might* have us using the L and R triggers for each gun (the L trigger being used to throw grenades by default in Halo). And it would be balanced if you can't use grenades but you can wield a rocket launcher and a battle rifle.

Screenshots and Updates verify this, as well as up the bad-ass-ness of the gun for Halo 2

And you would know of course :-P lol, jk. I'd give anything to get my hands on a pair of dual needlers....ahhhhhhhh...dual needlers....*passes out*

Dual Needlers OWN!

Is this after the ultra-nice improvements you made on them, or were they still awesome before that?

Personally, I think that you guys increased the velocity of the needlers' projectiles... And maybe allowed the needles to turn at up to 80 degree angles.

But... we cant know any of that, can we? (Not meant to be sarcastic)

Dual needlers have to be awesome.

hmm... plasma pistol and needler?

Plasma pistol depletes enemy shield and needler creams them...the possibilities are nice.

I can see it now instead of just hurting the person when all of the needles explode it will damaged things in a certaint radius around it.

From all the multiplayer pics weve seen.. (two of them) Its clear that you guys (at bungie) have become fond of the needler, since there has always been someone carrying it. But i have a question. One that i will not get an answer to, lol, oh well. the needle looks so freakin big in both shots, MC is supporting it with his other hand. Surely 2 of these things would cause his arms to ache after a short while. Even MC must suffer from the occasional cramp. As for making Needles ruling, they must have some pretty big improvement from the pink whizzing crystals that a sidestep would take care of. Just my thoughts.

I'm almost positive you won't be able to hold a Battle Rifle and Rocket Launcher at the same time. The dual weapon option will be only for one-handed weapons. If you could carry two two-handed weapons at the same time, then it would just turn Halo 2 into another stereotypical FPS.

I agree with you 100% on that. But truth is no one knows how the dual weapons options will work. Im more then confident that bungie can balance the game out so your little sister can't pick the controller up and pwn you one on on.

Edit: Priest......thats the name of a friend I know at school.....hrmm

With Dual needlers, using the needlers is a lot more powerful for Halo 2 and is probably why they enjoy it so much.

In Halo 1 needlers were nothing but a "I PWNED JOO" kill, in Halo 2 they will be a goto gun... I guess?

I'm left wondering how the dual needlers will own... *scratches chin*

How do you guys think they'll add live to the old needler? Will it just have one single aiming reticle like was shown with the dual SMG's in the old demo? Or will it have two in-place reticles that strafers get caught up in (or maybe the aiming reticle increases in size as you equip dual weapons)? If that's the case, we might have to run a little more often, or find a new way to bob & weave.

Dual needlers!? Man im gonna have nighmares and scary flashbacks for the rest of the week!

  • 04.12.2004 7:54 PM PDT

L trigger for left needler and R trigger for Right needler, but only bad thing is no grenades while both are out. And that was only a guess

thats great that they hopefully improved the needler....i never used that weapon any time during the first game...just thought it was too slow to do any damage, especially long range...then again, i am a pistol whore ;)

It's cool if you can kill with a needler, but anybody with ANY skill at all can EASILY avoid getting killed by one.

In fact, if you do get killed by a needler, it's embarassing.
