Are there any tactics that can help you do better in a rockets game? It seems like it's mostly luck! It always seems that the noobs play better in rocket games. Help!

XBL: FTG Spartan
But you were dead a thousand times. Hopeless encounters successfully won. A man long dead, grafted to machines your builders did not understand. You follow the path, fitting in to an infinite pattern.
Yours to manipulate, to destroy and rebuild.
Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.
I know who you are.
You are Destiny.

You're right about the new players being good and that it's luck. You can use grenades too and avoid close range conflicts by staying away from portals and such. Sometimes jumping up or up and to the left/right can decrease damage if the rocket is fired at your feet like it usually is. Basically the game is luck and who pulls the trigger first.

If you can get an overshield that's obviously a big advantage.

Shoot at the enemy's feet. Do not try to hit any other part of their body. Learn areas in the map where you have the most cover, yet have enemies to shoot. Also, know where the closest RL spawns are, else, you may be running around without ammo. Also, causing yourself to die when out of ammo is sometimes a good thing.
