O.K., in AotCR, you cross a natural bridge guarded by 2 Banshees and (down below) a Wraith. There is a huge pyramid across the void off to the left. After you get across, blast through the welcoming party of grunts, and go through a few areas, you once again emerge into the open. (The words "If I Had a Super Weapon... " will appear as an intro to the new area, as you are running through the corridor.) As you exit the corridor, the bridge you already crossed (a few areas back) is in the distance, across the void on your left, and the big pyramid is directly ahead of you. I have read in the walkthroughs that the easy way to get to the top of the pyramid is to comandeer a Banshee by quickly running to the right and making life miserable for the elite that races you to get into the seat first.

Here is an excerpt from one of the walkthroughs (by Thuyker):

*************************************** START *********************************

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
= If I Had a Super Weapon... =~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

You'll see the game transition into the next part of the level, but don't stop. Keep running as fast as you can, exiting through the door into the outdoors. Don't shoot at the Elites, but go ahead and stick them with Plasma Grenades as you run by, if you really want to. Your goal right now is to reach the Banshee ahead, as it will make the next part of the mission MUCH easier if you get to it, before the other Elite does. As soon as you reach it, hit (X) to climb in, then start moving immediately, before the Covenant on the ground can do too much damage.

(Paragraph deleted.)

If you were listening to what Cortana said as you ran to get into the Banshee, you'll have learned that the control room is at the top of the pyramid here. Since you're in the Banshee, you can just fly up there.

*************************************** END **********************************

My problem is that I can not find the Banshee. I am on NORMAL and have tried several times, sometimes meticulously following the directions of the walkthroughs, and sometimes just doing whatever I thought might work. All that I ever find is a nearby ghost at my 10 o'clock and a toasted Banshee a few hundred feet off, at my 11 o'clock (referenced to facing straight out of the corridor). I ended up getting to the top the hard way.

The only thing that I can think of that could have possibly made it so that I couldn't find a Banshee, is that before I crossed the bridge, I took out both Banshees and the Wraith with the rocket launcher (what fun!!) I noticed that I am not harassed by any Banshees as I make my way up the pyramid the "hard" way.

Anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks, in advance.

right when you go through the door to get on the bridge start throwing grenades near the banshee to prevent the elite from getting in it and run right for it and ignore the other covenant

Yeah, there's a red Elite who runs around the corner and grabs the Banshee pretty quickly. I usually save my sniper rifle for this part so I can snipe him out before he takes it. It takes some quickness to commandeer the craft, but it can be done.

You need to get the other three banshees dumb@ss, and there are two banshees on the natural bridge.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

There's 3 possible banshees to get. Two where everyone is talking about... (an easier way is to snipe the Elite before he gets in the cockpit and then nade to draw the other one out after you.)... bu the other is eariler... right before you go into the underground tunnel. Once you fight and destroy the Wraith, 3 Ghosts, and the Jackals... park the tank on the hill between the trees on the right side. Have a RL and a SR... now get on top of the Tank turret... look behind you toward where you came from, away from the tunnel and look up. You should see one of the places where the generator's are that you destroy in Two Betrayals. Now use your sniper... you can JUST BARELY see the top of the ghost... aim at that and switch to your RL and shot. You may or may not throw it off the ledge and then you have a Banshee.

Mia culpa.

O.K., it's slowly dawning on me. One of those Banshees I shot down is the one I should have gotten into instead of having fun with the Rocket Launcher at the beginning of the snow bridge. Wow. I don't know how many times I read the various walkthroughs, and was stuck on the thought that it was AFTER the snow bridge.

So, if I off the hunters and then go back and get the camo in the corridor just before the room with the hunters, I should be able to just run to the Banshee on the snow bridge before anyone knows I'm there, right? Do I even need to deal with the hunters if I'm wearing the camo, or can I just run past them and out onto the snow bridge and jump into the Banshee without being confronted by anybody?

Thanks, guys.

I just run past the hunters whether I am in camo or not just run around the room they are in and out the door no reason to fight them.

The best way is to wait for "if i had a super weapon" to dissappear so you can get the crosshairs back then open the door and back up a ways and take out the elite going for the banshee on the right with your sniper then just run past the other guys and jump into it and fly to the pyramid looking thingy on the left open the huge door and you are finished with the level.

When I first played this level (ages ago) I thought stealing the Banshee was part of the game! I thought it was something you had to do to proceed. After trying it again later in the week I realised you could go through the door and down the lift to the floor.

Anyway, here's instructions to my method (Doing this on Legendary is quite hard):
* Make sure you have some rounds of the Sniper Rifle (fully reloaded too), a good secondary weapon (I use Plasma Pistol or Rifle for stun purposes) at least 1 Plasma Grenade, and 2 or 3 Frag Grenades.
* Open the door (sniper rifle and Plasma Grenade in hand) and stick a Plasma Grenade to the Elite walking towards you.
* Switch to Frag grenade and throw as many as you have quite high along the bridge.
* Run towards the Banshee you can see and shoot the Elite that's running towards it using the sniper rifle. Then reload (or backpack reload, X X Y).
* Run past the 1st Banshee (that's safe) and run to the 2nd Banshee. If the grenades thrown earlier have worked correctly you will meet a flipped Banshee and its pilot (an Elite) frantically running round.
* Kill him, flip the Banshee, get inside and fly!

Its more fun to take the first one and have a banshee war with the second one (which is quite easy to kill on any setting, but still quite fun)
