I really think Halo 3 is fine the way it is. The more features you demand to be added into the game, the longer it will take to make a Halo 3 PC if they ever make one. An exact port of Halo 3 would be good enough. Leave everything the same.
Stupid console kiddies need to stop saying crap like this...

Halo 3 PC doesn't need an editing kit.It has the forge option.
...and this.
Too many ports have been ruined because people wanted them to come out fast. If Halo 3 were to be ported, we'd want a quality port. Not something half-assed. "Waaaaaah, I want it now!!!" No. We want it GOOD. Shut up and deal with it.
An exact port would NOT be good enough. A server browser is NECESSARY for a PC FPS. Of course, you wouldn't know, Heed, having never played a decent one. But it IS necessary for the game's success on the PC.
Aim-assist is also an issue; No PC player wanted to deal with their opponents having the advantage of a built-in aimbot (as well as other noobifications remaining in the game). So seasoned PC players didn't touch it, leaving the purchases to console noobs. If aim assist were to be left in Halo 3 PC, we'd have the same result.
Can anyone here name a PC FPS that does not have a map editor in some fashion? Even Halo PC had Custom Edition, and the tools available to allow you to make maps. Why the hell would MS and Bungie limit us by not including a REAL map editor? That would be a first in PC FPS gaming. And that would be a VERY STUPID MOVE.Posted by: General Heed

Halo 3 PC will need alot of content to keep us satisfied.
Limitations (& no explaination) is what pisses me off the most.
the Editing Kit should have ALL of content that is already used in Campaign and Multiplayer
the list goes on...
AI - I would love to fight lots of Flood Tank forms with friends.
Scripts - Active camo = true, if you enter a certain area. lots more could be done with scripts.
Cutscenes - like at the beginning of a map, or to show a tutorial of how to play a gametype.
Scenery and active scenery - like the Forward Unto Dawn, or the mini-Low LOD sky battle.
Custom objects/vehicles/scenery - I would love to see what people could make!
Campaign & Multiplayer objects - they looked good anyway.
4 Player Co-op limit sucks, why are all online co-op games doing that? (maybe not all, but popular/recent games)
I bet I could handle more, such stupid imposed limits,
its also funny how Halo 2 could handle 16 Player co-op through an unofficial Mod.
Ping levels, I would like to see in numbers, my Ping to the server or host!
Halo 3 being a PC game should handle more stuff than the Developer Xbox360.
cause most PC' should have more than 1GB RAM.
Modding needs to be supported, then a game would have unlimited amount of replayability.
Modding and Hacking are different, but M$ can't understand the difference.
If it's tons of AI you want to fight with your friends, then why not get Halo 3: ODST when it comes out in a month? It has a new Firefight Mode which is you and your friends versus waves of AI each one getting harder and trickier.
The reason why 4 player co-op is the limit is because of balance issues. If you have 16-player co-op, even the hardest difficulty will become so easy with 16 people. Bungie still wants the campaign to be challenging. Plus, when it comes to Halo 3, 4 player co-op is also for storyline issues. So it's not because of lag or anything. So 4 player co-op is fine unless they make Halo 3 a MMOFPS.
A full map editor would be nice. But they should still leave the original map editor in. A new player could select which map editor they want to use based on their skill with map editors. Most PC map editors tend to be pretty complicated compared to the Halo 3 Map Editor which is new player friendly.
I really think Halo 3 is fine the way it is. The more features you demand to be added into the game, the longer it will take to make a Halo 3 PC if they ever make one. An exact port of Halo 3 would be good enough. Leave everything the same. exact port = fail, just as Halo 2 Vista is.
ODST is just not good enough for New Campaign and a Firefight mode. (but I am still getting it :D)
all you do is fight AI with preset preferences made by Bungie, if a person made a map based on it, I'd say anyone could add better gameplay/variations than Bungie does.
I've looked at some of the mods created for Halo Custom Edition,
there is alot of creativity, but it is hampered by the fact that AI and a lot of things do not sync.
Halo 2 Vista fails in comparison.
I wish they'd be so kind as not to fail on Halo 3
although, I would prefer for them to keep their -blam!- limits on their own maps,
and allow us to take them off for our maps.
Map editor should have like 3 options.
Beginner - simple map
Intermediate - custom content
Advanced - AI, Scripts, Cutscenes, and all the crap I mentioned.
I don't mind how long they take or how much it will cost, if its the last Halo PC game released, it better be epic!
had to say this again, cause some noob doesn't know what Map Editor and Forge is.
and then say they want the same thing they got for 360, or make stupid alternatives.
I thought Halo 2 Vista was ok except for the fact it lacked campaign co-op and matchmaking.
I guess a browser list for Halo 3 PC would be good. But they need to keep matchmaking in with the ranked and social playlists. And you're idea for the different levels of map editors is a great idea.
Also, the AI in Firefight Mode in ODST is actually not preset. The waves appear at random so you never know what's next. Also, with each wave, a new skull is added or removed. Each skull will affect the gameplay as well as the AI in many different ways. There are hundreds of different combinations of skulls so the AI will never be the same.
