actually, if they wanted to be so -blam!- kind?
they would give us proper tools, and all their tags that have been made.

All Halo 1 tags available

All Halo 2 Vista tags available (meaning campaign, AI, Vehicles, objects)

All Halo 3 PC tags

give us all tags in the default Bungie state, then we can build on them! modify or make custom ones :D

Daodan Latency at 65%

We already know enough about Halo PC to make tags from scratch. And after that point I really have no idea what you are trying to say in that post. I am totally and completely lost in what you mean.

I think he means, everything unlocked for Halo 2 Vista and all tags available.
Halo 1 is a great game, thanks to the modders.

If they make Halo 3 for PC
I do hope they don't restrict anything.

Knowing Microsoft, you can expect the tightest security and restrictions ever. As the games get newer, the restrictions get stronger and more complicated with Microsoft.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

MS isnt strict compatred to what amazon says about EA Games:
"OMG THIS SUX IT HAS SECUROM DRM IT WILL BLAM YOUR PC AND ONLY HAS 3 ACTIVATIONS!!!!"

And besides, ms hasnt released a pc game in 2 years.

Oh I don't know. I think everyone is equally at blame at being the worst in this case. Buy your game, play them, and don't give out keys. That is the formula to never having problems with any game.

Maybe one of bungies secret projects is Halo 3 for PC. Perhaps in could come bundled with all Mythic maps and ODST as well, who knows? Halo 3 would be amazing on PC, hopefully forge would receive an upgrade as well.

I think halo 3 should never be released on the PC, MAC, look at halo 2 VISTA FOR THE PC. It is BEING HACKED AND CRASHED 24/7. No-one cares about it. Would you like that to happen to halo 3? I wouldn't so i guess it's worth getting an xbox and playing it on IT. NO CHEATERS, NO HACKERS. Thats what such a good game deserves. NOT BEING CRASHED and -blam!- up.

The only reason that happened was becasue msgs hasnt supported it.

Look at Halo 1 pc, it was hacked and crashed 24/7, but a patch came out and now it is one of the most popular PC FPS'es.

I agree. Halo 2 was a bad bad port. Halo PC was a very well done port. A game's performance is relative to the quality of it. If it is a very -blam!- game then not many people play it. Look at games like Diablo 2. It was originally released in 2001, and they still have competitive ladders online for best character in a realm. Halo 2 was buggy, and hence it was not very popular. Also the times between releases on the xbox and PC were so far spread apart that it made no sense do it. Anyone that really wanted to play Halo 2 would have gotten an xbox and played it by then.

Microsoft hasn't supported Halo 1 PC for a longtime either. The reason why Halo 1 PC is so popular is because it is so easy to hack. Hacking has gotten out of control in Halo 1 PC. That's why Microsoft gave up on it and stopped releasing patches and just gave out Halo: Custom Edition to satisfy all those modders and hackers.

Now the Xbox version of Halo 1, despite being over 8 years old has not acquired a single patch at all and modding and hacking is still very limited in Halo 1 on the Xbox. But since Halo 1 didn't have any Xbox Live multiplayer, an online patch was impossible unless Microsoft released a separate disc that included the patch like they did with the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack. Halo 2 on the Xbox for some reason had a lot of hacking problems and 5 patches had to be released which is quite a lot for a console game. Halo 3 only had 2 patches as well.

The point is that no matter how many patches you release on the PC, the game will always be hackable.

How about you take your know it all console attitude out of these forums. modding is completely different on PC than it is on a console. And there are very very few hackers out there for the game anymore. only 12 year olds that think they are cool because they use an aimbot.

There's also a lot of people in Halo 2 Vista that use trainers and other things like that.

That is hacking. Modding is doing say a map filled with dragons in warcraft III or Source Mods.

They would probably make it for vista and win7, as both will have DirectX 11. And the reason ms gave up on Halo PC, was because ms wanted to make newer games, and Custom Edition was made for custom maps and crazy mods. And halo 1 xbox has hackers, but those people need to hack their xboxes first, which means a live ban.

Knowing Microsoft, there's a possibility they may make Halo 3 PC a windows 7 exclusive just to help WIndows 7 sell better like they did with Windows VIsta.

True... but it won't be long until Windows Vista ends up like Windows XP. By the time a Halo 3 PC is made, if it is made, Windows Vista would probably be like Windows XP today. Obsolete and almost unsupported. Soon to be fully discontinued.

You realize that CE was meant to satisfy "true" modders and content creators, and not hackers/script kiddie/mod kiddie cheaters? As well as it was released around the time of Halo v1.03, where it was still in full support by MGS and Gearbox? There's a small security measure that was added to CE that checks your version of the map against the server's version, and if the two maps aren't the same despite having the same file name, your connection is refused. Not to mention Halo PC and CE's network coding is almost entirely server sided, inadvertently adding in a hell of a lot of cheat/hack/trainer prevention at the cost of needing to lead your shots if you're off-host.

I'd personally like to thank the consoletards for making the word "modder" sound negative; cheating and breathing new life into a game engine are two entirely different things.

The point is that no matter how many patches you release on the PC, the game will always be hackable.

Anything and everything electronic and code that connects to the internet in some way is going to be hackable. If someone is interested enough, they will look for ways to alter the game. If they're benevolent enough, they'll tell the developers what's up (and release full-disclosure if the devs are lazy/have no sense of priority). If they're malicious enough, they'll keep all the info to themselves and just wreck the -Blam!- out of everything until the coders somehow figure out how the game is breaking.

And despite your mentality, it sure doesn't stop Valve from keeping on top of Half-Life 2/Counter-Strike/Team Fortress 2/Left 4 Dead/etc etc game updates. Why? Because they know that if they continue supporting their games and fixing problems and quirks found by interested players, they will keep said players interested and will get them to purchase their future products. In that respect, MGS's immature decision to just drop support for Halo 2 Vista leaves me with the mentality that they're just going to do the same thing to H3PC when it comes out: do it wrong, and then run the -Blam!- away when their customers point out all of the issues, so I'm probably not going to just run out and buy the game if it comes out until I hear that the game is stable on release with few issues, and that the first batch of problems that arise are fixed in a timely manner.

Uh, you realize XP is still being fully supported due to widespread use? Windows 2000 deserves that title more than XP and I still see updates appearing on it periodically (my video capture PC runs 2k for the sake of performance). Microsoft only attempted to drop support on XP outright to force everyone onto Vista, and the public outcry was too loud, so they stopped.

Vista is this generation's Windows ME.

If vista was me, it would bsod like 9x. And also, someone needs to know that half life 2 gets modded all the time (source mods). And one last thing, Modding is not hacking/cheating/being script kiddie.

Well, a nice solid game wouldn't need so many patches like the poorly constructed Valve games. Take a look at Halo 3. Only 2 patches have ever been released. Halo 3 is a solid well constructed game by Bungie that barely has any patches because it doesn't need that many.

Windows Vista is definitely not this generation's Windows ME. Ever since 2003, I got sick of XP and was waiting for something new. 4 years later they finally came out with Windows Vista and I loved it. I really don't see why people are complaining so much about Vista. It's a great system. It doesn't crash as much as XP, doesn't slow down as much, and doesn't get as many viruses.

Vista was kind of a big leap from XP and you had to learn a bit about how to use Vista. And that's why people who are too lazy to accept new things and get used to it complain all the time about Vista. Everyone always picks the tiniest problems in Vista and blow it out of proportion. As for Windows 2000, it wasn't that bad, I still have a Windows 2000 computer. Except it's in storage getting all dusty now. Why would you stick around with Windows 2000? You're like a person that denies new technology and refuses to advance to the future. Instead, you want to stick around with ancient stuff and try to complain about all the problems in the new systems.

Bottom line, Vista is good. XP is old. Get over it. Stop dwelling in the past. Accept that Windows Vista is going to be the basis for all future Windows Operating Systems. If you've seen what Windows 7 looks like, you'll know that it's definitely based off of Vista. In fact, Windows Vista is like the Windows 95 of this generation. A new revolutionary system that will set the foundation for most future operation systems.

Halo 3 is only available for 360 and because of the 360's security, it's impossible to hack on live. Valve has released these patches as a way to spread even more content and change things to what the public wants. Valve games are even more supported on PC and gets more patches every month with more fixes and content. Halo 3 has only had 2 patches in total but the change that brought was a change in the ranking system.
Vista is not good at all. XP might be old but it is still stable and runs much faster than Vista. Clean installation of Vista for me and when I first started it up, it was using 1.5 GB of my RAM. Clean XP only uses 200 MB of my RAM. When I tried installing my wireless drivers for Vista, I got it from Microsoft Update. After the reboot, it bluescreen'd and kept on bluescreening after a min of every reboot. I gave up and went to XP. Why? Because its stable and faster. Vista might have new features but no one needs them. XP can do everything Vista but better.
