ODST is the best spin-off since CTR (1999 version) !

It would be a great idea! But i am not so sure if it is going to happen.

Bring Back Rocket Race!!!

It won't happen because when it comes to higher end games, the people with the better hardware will have a better advantage. For people with weaker hardware, there games may tend to slow down sometimes when there are lots of objects on the map.

That's why consistency is important for Xbox 360's. So no one has an advantage.

WHAT THE -blam!- ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

If I buy a new Graphics card, is only going ti make the game look better not make my rockets lock on to targets. If I buy new HDD, doesn't mean the Splazer I pick up has unlimited ammo. If I buy more RAM doesn't mean I'm gonna run faster in the game, it means i can run the game and more stuff at while playing

@general heed
No, the reason is that consoles are designed to be simple and cheap.
A 360 is $200 while a decent gaming pc can be over $1000 and needs to be upgraded as well.

I think another reason is that if they let you upgrade your console, then hacking or modding would be extremely easy on consoles which is against Microsoft's Terms of Use. That's the reason why it's difficult to open up a 360 compared to a PC or laptop. So that's one reason. Another reason I believe would be that Microsoft might make more money selling completely brand new next-gen consoles instead of letting people upgrade their console's hardware. It's kind of like forcing everyone to buy Winodws Vista if you want to be able to use future software and games. I have nothing against Vista though and I like Vista more than any of the older OS's. But yeah, those are what I think are more likely reasons why Microsoft consoles can't be upgraded. It's probably the same reason for the other consoles as well.

You used to be able to do similar stuff to the original, but they made the 360 more secure.

And it is way easier to open a game system than a laptop, you just need the right tools to open a system, but a laptop is a pain to open, seriously.

And another thing, console "hardware" upgrades usually flop.

Perhaps older consoles were easier to open up. But the 360 is kinda tricky and there aren't any visible screws to unscrew on the outside. And with the Nintendo DS, you need like a micro-screwdriver to open it up. But when I said open the laptop up, I really just meant opening the bottom parts to access the RAM chips.

we still have about 6 months to wait till it surpasses the delay between the launch of H2Xbox and H2PC.

Well, H2V was released when 3 was coming, maybe 3 will be released when Reach comes. Or, they may just sell more 10-20 dollar map packs on the xbox.

Actually, I think there won't be anymore map packs for Halo 3. The 3 new Halo 3 maps that came out with ODST are most likely the final 3 maps for Halo 3.

no, hope is dying.

To JacobGRocks

H2V was released when 3 was coming, right, so maybe halo 3 PC will be released a little after the release of Halo3: ODST, since it is more than a simple expansion...

OK everyone. It is as simple as this:
If there are no ads for it, then it is not happening. Why make a game without advertising for it first.

To JacobG - Decent Gaming PCs don't cost $1000+. I could build a system for $400 that would play Crysis smooth. People who want to go waaaay over the top, or buy alienware over-priced people are the only ones that would pay $1000 for a PC. The one I have now is $600 and can play anythig I throw at it at the highest res and settings (excluding Crysis because I built it about a year ago, when $400 for a Crysis killer wasn't possible yet)

Oh, and if H3 does come to PC, it better be an amazing port, with upgraded graphical settings, and the ability to at least play custom games Cross-Platform.

There no possibly way to support Cross Platform gaming in Halo 3

Well, before the ads start, usually, it gets announced at one of those "Gaming Expos" where all the companies show off thier games in devolepment and also let you play them.

Aren't there a lot of small games that get released without huge advertising? Usually small arcade games just get slipped into the marketplace without advertising it.

I THOUGHT NOT!

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

You mean like Battlefield 1943?

But like Dirk said, H3 isn't some "small game." If it's coming to PC, it'll be announced.

It would be announced but it wouldn't have tons of advertising like Halo 3 did when it came out with all those worldwide events and mass media attention.

Halo 3 PC must include the following
Halo 3's Campaign
ODST's Campaign
Firefight mode

Upgraded Theater mode
allow more ram, which will support campaign saved Films (rewinding + skipping) and campaign saved clips.
Upgraded Forge mode
more ram = more objects to spawn :D
Map toolkit (one that is worth the money)
with all of Bungie's tags used in both Halo 3 ODST and Halo 3 games, campaign and multiplayer.
Customized limits
I realise the console co-op games are limited to 4 players, PC can handle more than this, I would like an option which will allow me to change these limits myself.

Co-op Players 4 or over
Multiplayer 16 or over
Forge 8/16 or over (although 16 is possible on Xbox360)
Number of Decals etc...
