Okay all the newbie posters please STFU. Bungie has done next to NO WORK on the PC versions of the game. The only thing they ever did was making the game on the Xbox and helped a bit with PC, which Gearbox ported 98% of the game. Halo 2 Vista was ported by an internal MICROSOFT TEAM called Hired Gun. I highly doubt Bungie will be involved with the words Halo after Reach comes out. As I would assume they will be working on a new original IP for Xbox 360 and possibly PS3 and PC.

Oh I see. Well whoever is making it should hurry up, I've been waiting forever!

Tell me about it. I've been waiting ever since I started playing Halo 2 Vista.

I've been waiting for Halo 3 PC ever since it came to Xbox 360.
it's really fun to play.

I think 343 Industries would be making it, since they are a Microsoft group incharge of the Halo Franchise after Bungie dies.

Yeah, 343 Industries would probably do a good job, as long as they don't invite any Microsoft "friends" to help.

Then again, I guess Gearbox wouldn't be bad either. They did a fine job with Halo PC and Halo CE, so if they did it I think Halo 3 PC would would be in good hands. But who do you guys want to make it? (If you say Microsoft, I'm gonna shun you.)

Microsoft fails hard at Halo PC games.
Good companies to make Halo 3 PC.
Definitely not Bungie.
Gearbox,
Uncle Sam from Croteam. lol j/k

this time round they better not deny our right to all their stock tags,
take the trouble of ripping from SP and MP maps away.

If someone makes halo 3 for PC why only vista why not xp
There should be no lameass excuses to not allow installation for XP.
Tray'n'Play was 1 of the failed-ass excuse for H2V to deny it for XP.

Halo CE forever!

If they ever made H3 for the PC I'm pretty sure it would require DirectX10 or 11.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

DirectX 11. It works on Vista and 7 only. Also, 3dmark vantage requires vista or 7.

some games have done shortcuts or a splash window to select which DX should the game run in.
Windows XP users can stay on DX 9, while we Vista/7 users may enjoy DX 10 and 11. XD

Windows XP support is dropping soon, so they may/will choose to upgrade.

The reason why I pointed out lameass excuses, was because many of the Halo 1 PC/CE player base, were on XP to begin with, they were not satisfied with upgrading, or some other reason.

If [who ever makes the game]
could meet standards for all players on different OS's they'd sell loads?

XP wouldn't be a bad idea, but if (insert companies name that might make Halo 3 for PC)makes it, I have a strange feeling my 2003 XP might, possibly, not be able to handle it.
Just a feeling though....

Anywho, like stated above, DirectX 10/11 would probably be required.
BTW, what do you think the system requirments would be?
I would say something, but I probably would end up looking like an idiot....Not that thats anything new...but still.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Why would it? It runs on DX9 natively.

Why? Because, looking at the past, Halo 2 Xbox runs on DX9 while Halo 2 Vista has been forced to run on DX10(when everybody knows that it still uses DX9)

Halo 2 Vista sucks hard!. change subject back to Halo 3 PC.

No one gets left behind.

I hope they'll make H3PC compatible with DX9 and, as a consequence, with XP too, of course, but if they did it once when they ported Halo 2 on PC, why couldn't they do it twice?

It's better not to trust so much in Microsoft and Bungie..they are not reliable at all...

I can name quite a few people in here that do, myself included. But we all recognize the PC as a platform that's clearly superior.

By the way, thinking back to it, I have to admit that, if Halo 2 Vista was a flop, this was due to Microsoft, and not to Bungie. Bungie has always done a good job.

Console games are all limited, there is fewer content than compared to PCs.

Yeah. But Microsoft isn't all bad. They did a good job with.....um......uh......that thing.... You know what I mean!

And no, I don't have an Xbox 360, though I am thinking about getting one.
