I Hope the wait was worth it, and i also hope they dont just port it at the last second like with Halo 2.

Hopefully... but by that time, i would assume that Reach would be out already :|

We might get Reach ported, although it's unlikely.

Halo 3? I'll just come out and say that it'll never going to happen in the hope that somebody proves me wrong.

The only way such a port could be successful is if it was done in house by Bungie

Right there's where I've gotta disagree with you. I really don't think Bungie has any clue how to make a good PC game. Gearbox does, and made a pretty good game, despite all of MS's mandates for the final product.

If Gearbox did it again, and didn't have any dumb restrictions, I think we'd see a pretty appealing port.
Gearbox are gud, they made Halo Custom Edition, and didn't go into great lengths to "super-restrict" map creativity.

They could make Halo 3 PC a goldmine, and Bungie, Microsoft and Gearbox would get overflowed with $$$$$. $_$

Right now people are saying that it'll be great having Halo 3 on pc.But when we get, IF we get, everyone will start complaining about how its just a cheap port and start yelling at Bungie and Gearbox.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

If they do it right, the only people that'll be complaining will be the controller noobs that miss their auto-aim.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Those, and the cheaters from h2v who miss their easy cheats, if h3pc has a anti cheat. If halo 3 lacks a anti cheat, i will be MAD!!!!!
Halo 3 PC also should be like most PC game servers, with custom maps that load when you join. (you dont need to pre load the maps like on CE or dl then start like in h2)

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Look, we know that Bungie cannot make PC games. They lack the skill and personal. H3 can be a great port if done by the proper studio. Halo will always be an epic game, but a lot of people have moved on, but I hope they do do it and get it right for the thousands of PC gamers that do want it. History tells us not to get the hopes up though. It isn't just cheating. They need to get the basics down first, something they did not do with H2v. In other words, no more brilliant ideas like controller aimbot while ignoring mouse input problems. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but sometimes I think Microsoft made H2v the way that they did just to get people to buy Xbox controllers, Vista, and push GFWL. Making the game actually fun seemed to never be as big of a priority.

I would like GFWL to work like Steam, and allow mods of any sort.

*facepalm* It's not they can't do it, it's just they don't want to.

H3 can be a great port if done by the proper studio

Which is why we should be grateful for the fact that they aren't going to work on it. Once bungie makes Reach, they would have already had their last hurrah.

At the very least it showed effort, unlike H2V.

Um, the guys that made Marathon, Oni, Myth etc, have nothing to do with modern day Bungie. Completely different people, completely different time (pre and post Microsoft purchase).

Either way, the company cannot deny their own history. Sure Marathon wasn't the best game ever made, but it at least got down the bare basics of a PC game. And hey, maybe if they had actually played or studied Marathon or Halo PC, H2V would have been much better. And same rules can apply to Halo 3 PC and (well whichever company is developing it.)

I search tirelessly for the secrets of the one known as the webmaster and for ling-ling's head.

Well it is unfortunate that Bungie isn't fullfilling their own creed. Because in their employees creed thing they state this:

"7 steps to world domination"

"Dominate Mac platform and launch assault on Windows platform"---Bungie Creed

I don't know but I think Bungie has a lot of poetntial to be a top PC developer. But they did managed to take the xbox platform by storm to bad they can't apply that energy to PC.

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

They made Oni (meh game), Myth (diablo clone), and Marathon 2 (DOOM clone that was outdated) for PC, but they werent very popular compared to other PC games by blizzard, ID Software, Epic Games, VALVe, and other companies. MS bought them for Halo, then it was easy to port it to xbox (as xbox is really a pc). Somehow though the second port to pc was bad even though the xbox is just a PC.

Fewer similarities than you'd think. Not so much with the 360, but still kind of a hassle.

No matter how long it takes i'll get Halo 3 on the pc as soon as it lands on store shelves.

Eliminating the opposites.

If only certain emulators were made. I don't think we are close enough to .iso reading with the 360 console, or not just yet.... It would sure give DX11 a valid platform to work with.

There is a unoffical one for the xbox original. It has no sound and network and has really bad compatability.
