I often wonder why HALO 3 has not appeared on the PC. Most of the sourcecode is written. The art is complete. The levels designed.
Even if the single-player campaign was the only component to appear on PC, it would no doubt make enough sales to generate a profit.
(Yes, Piracy is an issue on the PC. But Activision still releases games on the PC, so there *has* to be some money left on the platform).
Plus, this far after release, they would not be stealing XBOX sales.
Thus, I am kind of puzzled as to it's non-appearance. Either A) Microsoft hates money, or B) Microsoft dislikes the idea of the PC as a gaming platform, or C) There are weird legal issues involved with the rights to the sourcecode and game assets I am not aware of.
I know that Microsoft owns the IP to the HALO franchise - does anyone know if this is different to the ownership of the games sourcecode somehow?
