Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Up-resing the textures and effects would require more graphics artists than porting teams generally have. You really don't understand how porting works, do you?

Yeah, but when some people in this thread are asking for is the assembly for a full dev team rather than a port team for a PC port that probably won't even sell that well. Hiring enough people to meet all those demands would essentially be a net loss. Porting the game straight with very few differences, however, might allow them to break even.

Wouldn't it just be easier to accept the texture quality from the 360 version, and then turn on anisotropic filtering to x16 ?
mip-maps on high?
anti-aliasing on (2x 4x 8x...)
Bounding radius on high.
Stereoscopic support. xD
Eyefinity/Surround vision support. xD

I really hate that co-op netcode.

The Texture Quality on the 360 Version isn't Really that High,Thats why i want the Texture Resolution to be MUCH,MUCH Higher on the PC Version.

And as for DusK's Post,I Think you are Confusing "Higher Resolution" Textures with "More Detailed" Textures.

Well, inorder for Bungie to optimize the texture quality, for that 5 year old pos (xbox 360)

They would disable anti-aliasing, mip-maps on low and low anisotropic filtering, all FiredGoons did, was upgraded Halo 2's textures from 256x256 to 512x512.

It's just easy for them. -__-

I've Seen Countless PC Versions of Games With Texture Resolutions That Blow the Console Versions out of the Water.

AND Have 16xAA/16xAF,ETC.

Actually, no, I'm not. Halo: Reach is currently a 360 exclusive, and was developed as such. So if you walk up to a wall and look at its texture, you're looking at its max resolution texture. To get anything else out of that texture, you would have to re-create it.

Then how Did Halo 2 Vista Recieve it's High-Res Textures so Easily?,Sure it was a terrible Game but it's Textures were ALOT More Higher-Res.

Trick o' the eye. The textures themselves remained the same. The game was able to handle higher resolutions and draw those textures at max res further back, making the game look better. Excluding the weapon textures, which did actually get redone.

Harder then you think.
If you direct port it, you get H2V.
Contrary to what MS Says, 360 games are NOT written with XNA. They are written in XDK, which is more complex then XNA. It also makes a 360 to PC port harder, as the PC doesn't have the same libraries, and not worth the time for a 3 year old game.

Now if this was a cross platform game, it would be another thing, but Halo Reach isn't cross platform. So don't expect a PC port.

What does mean " HALO 3 UNOFFICIAL"?
So many BLA,BLA,BLA. I have some experience and tell you something so i was building some new maps for Halo CE, anybody helped me and after 3 months i closed the project. Because i invested very much time. So someone wrote HIGH resolution i mean textures. Do you know it's easy to say but when you open Photoshop you dont know what is a next step and here BAM BAM FAIL FAIL!!!! So stop discussing this unofficial or make it. You are dreaming to much. My advice is make some new maps for HALO 2, make some screenshots from HALO 3 and start to build on 3ds max and import a meshes into Halo 2 Editor.

Halo 2 Vista is downright AWFUL. They ruined the controls completely and because of this, the custom maps people took time making never got any attention.

In order for Halo 3 to work on the PC (and it should release eventually) these features would benefit it greatly:

* Bring back hitscan to Halo 3

* A REAL map editor, with even easier to use tools and an even greater number of options

* Optimatch playlists for people to find Custom Games

* Weapon tweaking/balancing. Keep the BR as it is (with hitscan), give the AR a buff and hitscan, buff dual wields etc

* Firefight in Halo 3 that works on Custom Maps, I know you want it :)

*More options for Armor, maybe a few new helmets and more color options, such as Visor.

* Dedicated servers for customs

* Custom button mapping for both the controller and the keyboard

* More customization and selection (such as being able to select weapons such as the Carbine, Beam Rifle and Sentinel Beam as weapons in custom games

I know this list is big, but the fact is after comparing Halo 2 to its Vista counterpart, there is NO comparison, the Xbox version wins every time.

The biggest problem with Halo 2 as a remake was that it didn't treat current gamers with respect. It actually took steps backwards from Halo 2, and that is NEVER a good thing for the PC gaming community, that expects daily patches and options.

Halo 3 should maintain its core on the PC but if its released in the 2011/2012 area, it needs to feel like a 2011 game. Thats why I'm worried about the 343 CE remake, can they keep the core gameplay elements intact, but make the game feel fresh?

Only time will tell, and I really would love Halo 3 on the PC.
