So I've actually gotten the game to run without the whole jumpy crosshair/frame rate issue. This is much better than before.

However, I find it quite difficult to play the game with smooth mouse. In most other games that I play, CS:S, TF2 etc, they have the option to switch smooth mouse off/on, I have it off because I like to be able to twitch and react quickly, however I can't in Halo 2 because the mouse is not sensitive enough, even on 10 sensitivity.

Is there any way to turn smooth mouse off?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

You might have some luck forcing on VSYNC in your video card control panel. Be advised you might get mouse "lag" though. I've been asking people to phone MS support about it, because they said if more people complain there is a better chance they will do something to fix the mouse issues.
