I have halo ce and recently upgraded? to windows vista. When I installed halo I get an error message sayingmy system does not have enough system ram, and displays machine info as 3100Mhz, 0MB, 512M nVidia. If I continue anyway the game runs but I have issues with my frames per second.

My computer has plenty of power :
Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3110 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory: 4094MB RAM
Hard Drive: 750 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB
MONITOR: DELL 1703

When I edit my video settings in halo to 1280x1024 75Hz no vsync - I get refresh rates which range from 20 to 1000, which makes it very hard to shoot someone. On my other pc which is 5 years old has a ati0800pro video card I can maintain consistent fps of 130.

I believe the problem is that halo doesn't recognize my system memory so it is running in my video memory. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on a fix? Your help is appreciated

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

I am willing to bet you don't have updated drivers. Go to Nvidia.com and download the latest ones.

I have 8 gigs of ram and halo recognizes none of it and my frames are fine. Thats not the issue.

so you are running vista x64 with 8Gig? When you play multiplayer halo what frame rate do you average? Mine is all over the place? 20fps upto 1000. When i use -timedemo extension i average 120 fps.

Off-topic: One question: Who the hell needs 8 GB of RAM? I mean, jeez, man o.O_______O

What are you going to do, run 8 games at once, and like 30 browser windows as well?

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

there are plenty of reasons to have 8gb of ram or even a lot more....not for gaming, but for other work...

Get ready for tomorrow, PS4 is here.

I run it fine with 1.8GHZ, 2GB, Ati X1200 and Vista. Can't help with the problem. Sorry for wasting everyone's time and bytes.
