You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

Ok, i have watched the making of halo 2 video more times than i can count. I was watching the other day and i heard Joseph Staten say something i found confusing, heartbreaking, and interesting. He said " Its a different kind of story than you usually encounter in other video games, usually its a story of a hero who gets stronger and stronger and ultimately defeats a much more powerful foe!". Now, to me, that sounds like we will not be defeating the covenat, and tha we will lose our battle. What do you guys think.

I hate people like you who think they know everything. You don't know what will happen unless you work at bungie. And you DON'T so shut up.

it just means that MC was already powerful when we started, and he has not got anymore powerful, thats all it means, and for destroying Earth, they want the Forerunner Artifact, so they willl not Galss/Destroy Earth, they might do ONCE they have the Forerunner artifact, or ONCE they no that the artifact has been destroyed or in a secret location or suming, somewhere thqt is out of there reach, then the might destroy it in anger and revenge!

I think he is just talking about different kinds of games. Some games your guy levels up and gets strong, and so your enemies get harder. I think he was saying that you are that strong and the guys are that hard and there is not just one big boss at the end that you will have to beat. thats what it sounded like to me. But I can see Earth falling, unless something big happens to help us. Mc can't do it by himself.

I think Bungie is going to leave us hanging at the end of Halo 2 like they did (for a period of time at least) with Halo 1. Making it so we don't know what happens. But considering there is another Halo involved, and we are going to bring the fight to the Covenant (this doesn't mean against their homeworlds, Operation First Strike was the first time we actually brought the fight to them), I think we'll win the battle above Earth, but only just. As for the outcome of the war.....I definitely want a cliff hanger.

he just means that the reason the story line is so good is because its a struggle of earth against a much more powerful foe......
watch it again and listen to the rest of what he says

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

But of course, cliff hangers make you yearn for more and pave the way for a sequal.

Swoosh, simmer down, i was just speculating, thats part of what forums are for. What are we suppsed to post in a halo 2 forum, we dont know how its gonna go down, so are we supposed to talk about what we had for lunch or what. I know i dont know it all, i dont want to konw it all then the game would not be fun.

I don't think we will lose. I deffinately know Earth won't fall. I know our planet won't fall because I was reading an interview with some of the bungie staff in EGM about a year ago. In it they said that chief will repel the invasion and then take the fight to the covenant. Plus I think he was making the statement that halo isn't some lame version of a DBZ episode.

very interesting point and i believe that earth will partially fall, maybe if it is like 40 percent glassed. but i believe there will be a split in the covenant forces that allows this to happen. I AM NOT SAYING THE ELITES JOIN US OR ANYTHING> i dont believe any covenant will join the humans, but i believe the covenant will fight amongst themselves.
