Well I do respect the idea of the Founders picking topics, this seems a bit stifling to the other members of the Chapters, This may be a good plan for the "new hotness", but I don't want it to rule out anybody who's been with their chapter forever, to have to up and leave because they don't fit the mold anymore. I think that a chapter should be evaluated to see which topic it has more of. I do like the topics you have picked, especially Theory and Philosophy especially! I do have a database of Chapters in the project, and I have a notes section specifically for this type of generalization, so people will know what niche they fit into. But I'm still working on it. But they would still have to evolve into it naturally, so some would be classified as Jack-Of -All-Trades type of chapters, they do a little of everything but wouldn't be outstanding in any specific category. This would ensure there are chapters for those that don't have a specific interest.
I still believe the Chapters should be able to evolve in the natural way, but in a way that other people start seeing more of it and making thier own judgements. I want to see something posted in a forum, and someone randomly say, "That sounds like something I read on So and So Chapter, that Chapter is great for that kind of stuff." I kind of like the point system. But I am worried that if it happened Column wide it would seem to either punish the people who are busy or lazy, or cause a flood of useless spam just so people could keep up with the points.
I love your ideas, and I would love to discuss them more.
