I recently started playing Halo 2 after a long absence from the game, and I gotta tell you, it's better than Halo 3. First off, the thrills of the campaign, the music, the weapons, are still awesome to behold. Sure Halo 3 has it's charms (improved multi-player, graphics enhancements, actual explanation for how the flood can easily best the covenant's finest warriors), And sure Halo 1 will always be the best of the trilogy, But Halo 2, as a middle of a trilogy game, is One of the greatest games ever made (cutscenes aside). Many people complained about the ending, not me, it's the middle of a trilogy, cliffhangers are kindof expected. No, the storyline thrilled me from beginning to end, no other game, not even the first Halo game, has made me whoop at every plot twist, every nuance, and when it was all over, I was stoked for Halo 3, brilliant marketing by Bungie. It is august 22nd, 2008 as I write these words, and there are only 5,000 people i've seen that play it with any regularity anymore, sure there are a few glitches in the online gameplay, but, as another topic proposes (keep in mind that this topic is geared for a different purpose), we should petition Bungie, simply to release at least a patch to make , nay, Mold, the ultimate Halo experience. I also miss the Clan aspect of the game, and was saddened that you couldn't do the same for Halo 3 (clans now are just loosely organized).

Enough about that, let's get to the real focus of this topic: I formally challenge all of you, to go out and locate a Halo 2 game disc, they're cheap now, put into your Xbox, and play through the campaign on every difficulty, Start a clan, play on every playlist, make a single day every week a Halo 2 day.

Now I know some of you are going to say that it's far too late for this, that a better experience has been found, I say that, if great movies shall never be unwatched, than the greatest games shall remain played, and until Halo 1 gets online multi-player, this will have to do as the last of the xbox's great hits before the 360.

I also recommend that you play with the volume as loud as possible so you can hear the music, feel the battles, and laugh hysterically as the grunts get their last laugh in before their uglification. Please, this is all i'm asking.

I know what you mean, Halo 2 had something no other game has had, it had a brillaint story, and incredible plot, and I just love the weapons.

Granted Halo 2 is a great game, but for legendary, get used to heroic first, the snipers on halo 2 are just evil, and the gameplay really makes you work out your tactics on taking down the covenant.

Concerning the campaign of all 3, I'm not surprised.

Halo 1: Introducing you to the Halo Universe.
Halo 2: Things get interesting.
Halo 3: Let's bring it all to a close.

lol... "...a few glitches..."

Halo 2 is one of the most, if not THE most, glitch-ridden game I have ever seen. Physics glitches, animation glitches, scripting glitches....

I dare say the only game that was probably glitchier was the original E.T. game for Atari.

though, for it, I do not blame bungie. After doing the due research, Microsoft rushed Bungie with Halo 2 and they did not have as long a period of time as Halo 3 to bug hunt and polish.

But still... do NOT undermine the negative effect these glitches had on the game.

I LOVE Halo 2 there is NOTHING better for me then just drive a full warthog into the thick of a gulch war game. To HELL with it's bad graphics! Why does no one realize that H3 has better graphics because it's a NEWER GAME! Duh! Of what I've seen of the H3 online, It's missing what makes H2 fun: People that play FOR FUN. Uggh.. I'm ranting..better stop now =\.

ARBITER, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER!!! WORT WORT WORT.

Halo 2 campaign ftw. Playing half the game with Elites at your side, that's sweeeeeeet. And Hunters. And grunts.

Halo 2 legendary with the snipers... yeah, I played Halo 3 on Legendary and realized I didn't have to worry about dying when my fingernail was sniped... I could easily get a haircut by the time a sniper shot at me, and even then he'd likely miss. The difficulty just wasn't there.

Huge maps to explore. That's awesome.

Weapons... awesome. Brute plasma rifles and first gen Brute shots are amazing. I have to admit, I'll take the Halo 3 smg though, at least for the sound it makes.

I agree. When people say that they r dissapointed by a cliffhanger, I dont know how to respond. Its the middle of the series, and should leave the gamer wanting more. It couldnt just finish the story, and leaving nothing for H3.

As far as multiplayer, I think its better than H3 as well. Its faster pace, less laggy, and teamwork plays a crucial part in winning.

Halo 2 had so much more cool stuff, and glitches are mostly fun...gettin out of levels WITHOUT Forge, superjumps, Scarab guns, and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more...the story was longer and more interesting than H3's was(no offense)...Halo 2 was so fun because it was the only game out (pretty much) and my friends and i played it so much...makes me sad to see that barely no one plays it anymore...which is why i recently ordered it and will be probably playing it more than H3(until more maps come out but i'll eventually go back to H2)

I went Underground!

Yes Halo 2 is an awesome game. New Mombasa looked cool! I wish they would make more map packs for it.

Halo2>Halo3 anyday

Better maps
Clans
More DLC
Better playlist

I would play Halo 2 all the time but all my friends refuse to even try it.

It's missing what makes H2 fun: People that play FOR FUN.
