i dont think so because the one that can flip warthogs is a new enemy that was never in halo.

well if the hunters do have a mouth then wow, thats a small mouth i mean there is such a small space that the helmet takes up, its like a frying pan. But what i think is that hunters do have vocal chords there is just no mouth for speech to come out of. I mean, if you listen to them die or when they melee attack you, you can hear them grunt and moan, it just sounds muffled.

also i want to see an elite and a brute throwdown. I read in xbm that "elites dont like brutes, and brutes dont like them, most likey we will see some of this in action" Coolness!

Also, a little off topic, but why would bungie make a model of a maskless grunt? What if you went to the covenant homeworld and you went into a "methane room" kinda of like a sauna where the grunts hang out? and instead of them shooting at you they would scatch and bite you with those gnarly teeth. *shudder*

What if they "Played" diffrent notes with there spines meaning difrent words or phrases?

I highly doubt their spikes have anything to do with communication.

u don't know that, we're talking theory but if thats ur theory thats fine . I am not sure, they have no mouth but u guys aren't thinking right. The only possible way with the spikes is if they serve as antennas, like how ants communicate. Like signal sort of stuff. its possible since no mouth. But they have some sort of voice because how could they grunt when their trying to melee u. Thats probably it.

Ants don't communicate with their feelers. They communicate using a quemical language. Their feelers are for... feeling, and picking the quemicals they leave behind for other ants to follow the colony's path. Did you really think they communicated via some radio wave or something...? >_> As for the hunters, if they assign themselves names, then that means they have phonetical capabilities. As for the spikes, they sometimes use them as weapons. As said in the Halo Library, careless marines have been impaled with these spikes. So they have spikes just as cows have horns. End of discussion.

Hunters can talk, they have mouths. If your playing coop and your partner dies from a Hunter, sometimes u can hear them laugh. (No its NOT an Elite, its a reaaally deep laugh, like a fat guy laughing)

Also, maybe the Hunters are getting that huge opening on their back covered. Now the only place you got 'open' is their throat and their stomach, and its quite a bit harder to hit them there than on their back.

Or maybe they have improved tactics while working together, like they stand back to back, or back to a wall or something. Heck, maybe they have new armour altogether, so they don't HAVE weakspots. Maybe they will just be like an armoured behemoth and the only way to kill one is by firing a rocket directly at them.

Cheers,
~Kain

Yeah they should make their weekness to be their throat. A way smaller area and practically inaccessible in while in their fighting stance. They should also make their meelee attack a bit more accurate so you would think twice after getting too close to them. Can you imagine a hunter with an energy shield?

Yes i agree, the throat should be the only "weak spot" they have. As for the energy shield, dear god, that would be terrifing, an energy shield combined with the upgraded A.I and the strength and adversity the hunters already have, that would be a challenging foe.
