Before you start reading this post keep in mind that I've visited several Halo and Halo2 forums, this should wash some of the confusion from your face if I mention something that you may not understand of if this seems redundant. Also keep in mind that most of the info is rumors, speculation and mostly my own thoughts.

Anyway, here's a wish list for multiplayer:

1) One setting I'd like to see for any mode of multiplayer is the option to turn portals on or off. On should be default.
2) In team games, there should be the option to chose which team gets what vehicle. For example: Red team starts with 1 Scorpion Tank and Blue team starts with 4 Ghost, or maybe just have an option were you can have a Warthog spawn in the middle of the map.
3) It would also be nice if you could have an option to turn grenades on or off with the default set to on.
4) To be able to carry just one more of each type of grenade (10 total instead of 8) would be great.
5) As far as the vehicles go, I'm impressed. The new vehicles I’ve seen for Halo 2 are what fans of Halo wanted in the first place. The ATV will be great for those times when you are sent to do recognizance in MP games. I heard that they have made the ATV so that you can aim and fire your weapon in front of you. I just hope that this will make the assault rifle (which I heard was greatly improved) more practical.

With the several versions of the new warthog I've seen, it seems that there maybe more than one type of warthog to drive. Keep in mind that the stats are the way I'd like to see them. Here are the ones I'd like to see:

1) Warthog 1 (this is just a generic name)
Crew: 6
Max Speed: 50
Max Reverse Speed: 25
Rollover Danger: high
Weapon(s): M41 LAAG
Rounds: NA
Rounds per Clip: NA
Rate Of Fire: NA
Reload Time: NA
Damage: 15-24
Splash Radius Damage: NA

This is one of the concept cars I saw on Bungie's website. The concept car had seating for six (1 driver, 1 passenger, and 4 guys in the back) and no gun, but I think that if they added the M41 in place of the front passengers seat, it would make this warthog better.

Warthog 2

Crew: 3
Max Speed: 55
Max Reverse Speed: 22.5
Rollover Danger: high
Weapon(s): Weaker version of M41 and Rocket Launcher
Rounds: Unlimited (both)
Rounds per Clip: NA (machine gun), 3 (RL)
Rate Of Fire: NA (machine gun), 1.2 Rockets/second
Reload Time: NA (machine gun), 4 Seconds (rockets)
Damage: 8-15 (machine gun), 80-351 (rockets)
Splash Radius Damage: NA (machine gun), 20 feet (rockets)

This is a combination of both warthog's for the PC version of Halo. My idea of a well-rounded version of the warthog.

6) Back to MP. It would be nice if Bungie would bring back Blood Gulch, Side Winder, and any other classic maps from the first Halo. Also when they make new maps, make more that can support vehicles; if there were 16 to 20 maps then 6-8 that supports vehicles would be ideal.

7) Make one, big, city-type, multiplayer map. Two tall buildings (3 or 4 stories tall) at each end and put abandoned houses and rubble in the middle.

8) BOTS, BOTS BOTS!!!!! This is what allot of people have been asking for and I agree. Bots on multiplayer maps would be great for those people who want to practice on multiplayer when they can't get a friend.

9) 2-player campaign mode was great in Halo but a cool variation in it would be a strictly 3-4-player mission mode. Choose one of several non-story based missions for you and your friends to play. Missions could easily vary form stealth missions to escort missions to the classic guns-a-blazing mission. Each of these missions would have several steps to them. Example: Go to point A and eliminate all hostiles, once all hostiles have been eliminated, proceed to point B to flip the switch that activates the timer, once the timer is activated, proceed to point C before time runs out. This is just a condensed example but even this would be fun if you and three friends could be on the same side and do this.

10) From the weapons I’ve seen in the Halo2 video, the sniper rifle was not shown. My hope is that the clips will be slightly bigger. 5 rounds per clip would make the sniper rifle a little bit better.

11) I don't know how to say this without getting people upset but take the scope off the pistol. Yes, this is the main reason why the pistol is so deadly (aside from the fact that, per round, the pistol deals out more damage than the assault rifle) but it just to easy to kill people with it. I like the pistol vary much, great for headshots, but a little to strong for a side arm. If they don't take the scope off, then at least lower the damage of the weapon. And for those who are curious no, I'm not a noob.

12) Proxy mines or C4 would be great weapons to have in multiplayer and for missions. Imagine, you could place down anti-personnel mines near your base during capture the flag to provide additional protection. Using C4 would be great, run to the enemy base, put a charge down, run back to your base, and detonate the charge. You could find both of these in your grenades inventory. Use the BLACK button to switch between grenades, mines and C4. And use the LEFT TRIGGER to place down mines and C4. If you've placed down a C4, hit the LEFT TRIGGER again to detonate. Since the C4 and mines could be very powerful, I think the limit should one of each per person and the respawn rate for such weapons should be set to extremely slow.

13) This next thing might be a task for Bungie but raise the multiplayer limit from 16 to 24. I know it would be allot of work and the game might not be able to handle it but I can still dream can't I? It would be awesome to have teams of 12 for CTF. You would almost need to preplan all your teams’ attacks to be affective. But this might be a possibility for Xbox Live.

14) What would also be nice is if they could just put the game on two CD's; single player campaigns on one disc and the multiplayer games on the other. 989 Studios did this with Syphon Filter 3 and it worked out just fine. This could give both multiplayer and single player the space to have allot more options.

15) In Halo, you could press the left thumbstick in to crouch. The only thing I didn't like about this was that you needed to hold down the left thumbstick in order to stay crouched. It would be nice if you would only need to press the thumbstick in once and your guy would stay crouched until you press the thumbstick in again. Or better yet, have the ability to into the prone position (lying flat on the ground). Maybe you could press the left thumbstick in twice to lie on the ground. This would be great for times that you don't want to be seen and it would also make sniping much more fun.

16) Have you ever wanted to play a quick CTF but then windup playing for about an hour? I think that Bungie should add an option to have the games timed. That way you could play a short game and not lose tack of time. Have timer options like 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, and 60 minutes. Once the time is up, the game is over. the person or the team with the highest score wins the match.

17) Skin options are also needed for multiplayer. I want to have the ability to look different not just be able to change color. I wouldn't mind looking like one of the marines in Halo or even one of the aliens.

18) Rearrange the controls a little. The biggest problem I had is when I would be playing multiplayer and I would be hiding behind a flipped warthog sniping, I would go to reload and I just windup flipping the warthog instead of reloading. I hope that Bungie will change the configuration so that the B button does both Melee attack AND it also performs actions, like flipping warthogs, then they could have the X button use solely for picking up/swapping/reloading weapons. This would just make more sense.

19) The only idea I have for a new weapon is to have some kind of guided missile. For those who have played Unreal Tournament and have used the Redeemer, they will have an idea of what I'm talking about. Launch the weapon and guide it using the thumbsticks.

20) In multiplayer, you should have the option to create a team; I don't mean red vs. blue, I mean create a name for your team and possibly a team color.

21) I also just thought of more multiplayer options: Be able to turn certain weapons off, like how in Halo you could select no sniping, you might be able to turn off rocket launchers, needelers, or shotguns.

Nice post Ebor

#13 is a hot topic, but I'm confident that they will raise the number of players in multiplayer matches; don't settle for 24 though :)

24, hell I heard numbers raising from 32 to 64. 64, man that would be a major achievement for Bungie if that were the truth, even 32. But I only heard of 64 from Mr. L337's review on Xbox Alliance, or whatever. I highly doubt it though, but don't let it be said it would be freaking awesome. It'd be like Battlefield: 1942 and -blam!-, plus the Multiplayer maps would be gigantic making huge dogfights in the sky able to prosper, ground engagements, etc. I'm looking forward to maps like Blood Gulch making a appearence, remodeled, bump-mapped, etc. C-12 (Halo Universe equivalent of C4) would be an awesome Item, for Single Player and Multiplayer alike. Sniper Rifle, I agree it's ammo capacity could use a boost, another round at least, a even 5 agreed. Like the other returning weapons it could use a new look. Though I wasn't quite happy from what I saw in the screenshot from the GI magazines, no new look..
