They really break up the browsing of the forums. Any chance of letting us have a setting in our preferrences we could click so that we could ignore those?

That would be really cool, although I'm not sure if it's possible.

I agree there would be alot more topics to respond to if all of the locked and moved topics were gone. I think that when a post is moved or deleted that it should disappear from the forum it was in. That would make the Septagon at least a little bit easier to navigate.

Good idea, but what about the locked stickies? Those are there for a reason.

Maybe that could be bypassed. You've got to think outside of the box people!

Maybe the moderators could remove it manually rather than it being an automated process. I mean they lock it and move it so, what would be so hard about doing one extra thing?

With all the threads they have to lock and move, I don't think that they personally need one more thing.

I think the moved topics have to be seen. Otherwise people will incessantly ask where they are instead of being able to see them right on the page.

If someone is dumb enough to go into preferences, click ignore moved and locked, and then post a thread asking why they can't see them any more... Well that person needs to be removed from the human gene pool fast, before they have kids. I swear if my kids have to put up with that persons kids I don't know what I will do. I am guessing it will involve scissors and lots of twine.

I think we've got plenty of proof on these forums. Besides, suppose they forget?

ok, a simple IQ test, that you can take in preferences. If the test decides that your daddy is not really found of his sister, or dog, or what ever these peoples excuses are, it rewards you with the ability to click the option to ignore.

We could just delete more often... I go through phases regarding that. Sometimes I want to *try* to make a point to posters visiting that lots of threads are dead because they're breaking rules, but almost nobody reads anything on these forums, so I guess it's pretty futile.

*shrug*

Just to let you know, it may seem bleak, and I know you have your back against the wall, as the shambling mindless hoardes press their attack against reason... but I appreciate what you do.

There are usually two reasons why we would lock instead of delete:

* To make sure the original poster of the thread knows that what he did was wrong, and that the thread didn't simply just fall off the front page.

* As a subtle reminder for the rest of the users to post on-topic and within the rules.

Letting people ignore locked topics would simply make the locking process pointless, as everyone would ignore them.

I don't lock very often. I like to delete and then send the poster a personal messages and explain what happened to his topic.
