Heyyo,

Definately throw a torrent on your site man. Doesn't take your bandwith, and it's much better than leaving people to try n' find the game on their own. ;)

Don't forget to link them to a good torrent client! I suggest Azuerus!

There needs to be a little more interest than this! I can't base anything on four votes...

A torrent is like a small file thats gets you acces to other seeders so you can download maps from other people its like a share to share map thing between other people.. I think its a good idea and a bad first of all it will take away the bandwith problem but then you would have to have loaders (who already have the full file) open in order for the download and also the download will be very slow

Yeah, it's probably not the best idea considering the amount of interest shown here...

I may even leave The Maw now to be honest. It seems I'm wasting my time here, and perhaps I could do more for the community somewhere else... Oh, and by the way, the support seems to be drying up already...

Well, the way I see it is like this...

Support for the site has dropped right off to the point that the clickthrough rate has dropped to 0.1%... Over 2,000 hits today, with a resulting two, count them, two clicks! Also, I recieve no response to my posts which to me means that no one can be arsed... and, I don't know if you've noticed, but there are more than the odd person here who don't want my site to succeed...

I'm tired and I don't want to spend all of my time here constantly trying to get the help I need... especially when it's not offered. It's hard enough trying to make everything work and stay upto date as it is. My time could be better spent elsewhere.

Just let me add though, I am REALLY gratefull to those of you who have helped, but I fear it may not be enough with the decline in clicks. I may even have to temporarily close the site again too. I'm not prepared to pay more money, as I've mentioned before...

Maybe this Halo PC forum isn't the best place for me to be...

That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, seriously if it's too much of a burden on you, I would miss the site....but don't put yourself out too far. If you must shut it down to save money//time/everything else, I think most people would understand. Like others have said it would suck to see you go, like suck very badly.

I would be up for torrents. They would accumulate on the bandwidths of the users and ease it off of you quite a bit - that is, if the people that visit the site even know what BT is. Even if they did, a lot of people leech and also have no clue as to how to open ports for that. It would be hard, but it's do-able.

Well, I've managed to put some measures in place now to stop the leaking. Thing is though, you now have to sign up... It's not how I wanted to do things, but hey, if it works and it helps to keep the site up, that what I had to do...

Come help me fill the forum... ;)

Heyyo,

seriously muff, clicking ads never really work. I'm telling you man, aim for ads that have guaranteed income, especially those that measure by the amount of hits on the site, cause there sure the heck ain't a shortage on those now is there? ;)

The signing up thing and the not having CE downloadable from there are the only bad things that I can see. But thats just little things! :)

The Halo CE package will be available again come the 1st of April. I've had my bandwidth smashed (as you all know), but the measures that are now in place have saved a whopping 5gb a day! That means that come the new month, I can go back to normal operation :)

At some point within the next week though, I will have to stop serving files to avoid a large bill for the bandwidth... Oh, and to let you all know (the ones who don't already), within the first 24hrs, 72 people have signed up for membership! Clickthrough rate has dropped to 0.9% though...
