What should I do to have fun on the forums?

 • 06.29.2004 7:38 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

NO dont believe him. blood is a dumbass. just dont ask stupid questions like is the pistol coming back, and dont post lik 1 word posts. thats spam, which is a big no-no. also dont start polls about talkin crap to others, and no political discussins, like asking who are you voting for. and dont listen to people like Twitch, who promote spam. if you see something thats obviously spam,DONT REPLY. find the moderators and message them. the moderators are Shishka,Stosh,Yoozel,Reiginko,Makaveli4Life1,and goweb.i think im missing someone.

Gain respect. You have mine.

bah

When you're reading something, and want to know if it's BS, check the member since date of the poster. Anyone who's been here longer than 4 months pretty much knows all (that NEEDS to be known), and therefore can be believed. Thus, you know that Twitch's post is pure BS, whereas Nedus can be trusted more to say intelligent things. There are MANY people who are exceptions to this rule though. Mostly people who have been here a short time but are good poeple. Also, if you want a crash course on forum etiquite, go to Newb World and look in the databases there. I've put a lot of my wisdom into those pages.

watch your back. the mods can be grumpy and lock your topic or delete it altogether if theyre feeling particularly grumpy. or if it really needs to be deleted.
and they dont appreciate immaturity. too late for me.
this is the best forum for off topic discussion because its the only forum that allows it. and cuss words are replaced with -blam-. which means your cuss words turn out as blam instead of the cuss word.
and a final word of advice- if all else fails, try duct tape.

thats all you need to know to survive in this forum and real life as well.

Also, another thing that pertains to join dates: a lot of the new people stick together like glue and hang out only in the Flood forum. They post worthless crap all the time anfd think they are cool and support each other. I won't name any names, but you can tell who they are by how much they -blam!- about the mods.

Why are you looking at me like that? It's true!

 • 06.29.2004 7:48 PM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

you dont have to mention names. they usually have names like h8 mods or modkiller.

Hey Rip Saw- you should really be a moderator. Something just makes me think you should be one.

Of course he should. He's grumpier than Shishka and Yoozel combined.

 • 06.29.2004 8:03 PM PDT

bah

Grumpier than them? Maybe, but I think the word you're looking for is moodier. One day I'm all happy, benevolent, and helpful; the next I'm annoyed, grumpy, and go hard on new people asking new people questions. I'm not grumpier, but I have a much broader range of emotions. I'm less consitent. But I always help the deserving and always scold the bad. It's just the extent to which I go that changes.

Case in point, Newb World. I was cruising along with long weekly spotlights. Now I don't feel like doing them since my own chapter hasn't yet been approved. I'd like to know why...

Hey, curly!

My advice is: Always think before you post, or else you'll get alot of angry replies. :(

This is generally helpful. That is, if you want to dislike everyone because they're new. I would suggest not judging anyone until you get to know them yourself.

My other advice would be to just try things out for yourself; mostly everything is self explanatory. For those things that confuse you, go to the Forum called "The Septagon" and ask for help there by creating a new thread with your problem stated therein. People there will try to fully answer your questions.
