Now this idea may be a bit far fetched, But I always kinda hoped Halo 2 would have some sort of prox mines for multiplayer, to strategically place around corners and what not. Does anyone else want to see something like that?

proxy mines suck in my opinion. halo is a fast paced game and having to slowly round each corner just because they have proxy mines would ruin the pace.

No. No skill involved with that. You just cover the map with these little mines and just put them where people don't see them. Too much like Goldeneye on N64, and doesn't take enough skill. Plus, if you want to guard a space, just stand there with a rocket launcher/ energy sword and you can kill anyone that doesn't expect you.

I think it would be cool. Just as long as there wasn't an overload of mines( mines around every corner...ect.) They should be a very limited weapon...

I agree, Bentfishy has a good point as it would slow down the gameplay, but say there was 1 available every few minutes, such as the invisibility and overshield are (just a little longer between respawning) and then you can just surprise the hell out of someone.

Now a proxcimity mine would be a pain in the but and not cool. Like ya'll say Halo is a fast pase game. But I would like to see an anti-tank mine that is very very hard to see if your driving a vehicle (The Carring Limit of the mine would have to be 2-3 at most). With that in mind just think of the damage they could cause and the sheer fright of your enemy on CTF when they run out with the flag towards their buddies in a Warthog and see them fly sky high due to a Anti-tank mine. It would add a whole degree of stragic setting to the game. Plus make for some cool explosions. But a proxcimity mine is a no to me. (sorry about spelling)

just use plasma nades'. If you have the flag, and someone is chasing you, just drop a grenade, then repickup the flag, and run. simple. they'll walk straight onto it. the only downside is that plasma nades' don't fully kill someone unless their stuck to em'. But that's why you have teammates to weaken him/her.

i like the idea where it appears like the overshield and invisibility do. that way there would be a couple in play.
I would really like it, however, if instead of prozy mines they were detonator mines. that way, you would have to keep watch on the mine position. it would add a lot to CTF. "you go running into the base,grab the flag, out the door and.......BOOM! you go sky high and the flag leaves your teams posession.

That's something I didn't include in my earlier post. With the anti-tank mine it would appear like very little (like the power-ups), and can either be detonated by a remote or could be stepped on (the oppossing team or your own)/drove over/ or blown up by a gernade or rocket. Anyway it would make a huge boom and even create a crater for cover, or for a base make a sorta molt for the fort to be better protective against vehicle rades. See it could go offensive or defensive weapon.
