I saw at the grocery store today a food labeled "low carb tortillas". When I made tortillas, I used only water, flour, and a pinch of salt. I thought that flour is inherently high in starchy carbohydrates, so how can low-carb tortillas exist? The curiosity is killing me...

I work at a grocery store. I doubt the ingredients are great alternatives to carbs- but I will check it out on Thursday when I go back in.
We have low-carb everything. In fact we can sell more bottled water if we add in the part that it has no carbs.
Seriously though. For more than half of our products, we also offer a low-carb alternative.

For example, Coca-Cola C2. I dont get it. Its the soda part thats bad for you- not the carbs. But thats a different discussion entirely.

bah

All it has to be to be considered low carb is have fewer of one type of carb. The whole carb scam is so ridiculous that I can't believe poeple are falling for it.

I'll be on my own side.

my God people dont realize that if you dont have carbs, its bad for your brain. your brain needs carbs. my mom was on it,but i got her off of it with a few well chosen words. i told her "Fine! Be a stupid twig!"

Of course people fall for it. They think its a way to lose weight without excercising. People are lazy- but its also easier to fit into a busy lifestyle.

ROTFLMAO
You just reminded me of something I heard a couple o' years ago...
A friend of mine claimed to have seen "diet water", whatever that is.

Yeah, I've heard from many that lack of carbohydrates can cause brain damage. I guess that doesn't matter much for people who don't figure that a healthy diet like what we've evolved eating for millions of years is the only way to go, Lol.

Only in America does someone order a double cheeseburger with fries...
...
...
and a Diet Coke(tm)! Speaking of that, I heard that most artificial sweeteners do some kind of damage or other besides leaving a hellish aftertaste.

It wouldnt be a bad idea to return to what we used to eat- like before television.
We ate meat of the beast. We ate grain. We ate berries.
I call this diet the Excommunicado Bare Essentials diet. This is going to be the next big thing.

To do this diet- when you are about to take a bite out of that donut- think, "Did caveman eat donut?" And caveman no eat donut.

I was watching that on the O'Reilly factor. And he's like, "Is that why models are stupid?"

Also technically eating high carb foods doesn't make you fat. They actually are used as energy, but will be stored as fat is you don't use that energy soon enough.

Bare essentials, eh?
That's probably why I can't attain that popular "human pear" physique. I eat for need of what's in my food more than any other reason, so eating stuff that's no good for me seems mostly a waste of time...

I eat a lot of starches when I work hard, more even than some who look like avocados due to excessive reliance on the "third foot".

I like chocolate too, I grab a peice sometimes to go with my coffee drink. I like to add pepper sauce or wasabi or something to my food for smell and taste, I just don't bother seeking out food unless I have a reason- so I don't end up snacking for the heck of it very often.

Earlier someone mentioned artificial sweeteners...

they are like 3 times worse for you than regular sugar is. I'm not kidding. I forget what it does, but just don't drink that fake crap.
