I refuse to download the update. I don't want to put in the CD each time. It's tucked away in one of the many drawers in my room, and I don' t feel like finding it.
Anyone know their IP address and want to play on 1.05?

yo you dont have to put the cd in all the time first let me say tht you can download this thing called daemon tools and then download the thing from
gamecopyworld... or something like that its a real small file and then you can mount the image to daemon tools and it works. You can only do this if you have the real game and you brought it...... and no no one is on 1.05 there is only like 40-50 players while 1.06 has about 1,500 people

Here are detailed instructions on how to play without the disk. First go to this site. http://gamecopyworld.com/. Select a mirror, anyone will do. Next, it will give you a warning, saying the usual about how you dont make illegal copies, hit enter at the bottom. Now you are on the site page with lotsss of stuff. On the column on the right, look for the words Game Index righit under where it says in large blue letters, PC. Select F-M. Now you have a list of games. Select Halo: Combat Evolved. You should now be looking at a list of subjects in blue that all start with Halo. Select the one that says Halo v1.04 & v1.05 [English] NO-CD/FIXED EXE. . This brings up a list again. The one at the top is the one you want. Click the little floppy symbol. Now there is a list of mirrors. Select one. And then another list of mirrors. Select one. After you select that mirror. It will then ask you if you want to save the file. Save it anywhere but remember where it is. I believe that winrar is needed in order to use it. Winrar is a extracting program and can be downloaded from here. http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm. Select the one on the top and download and install. Ok, for the earlier download, find where yo downloaded it. Winrar should be installed by now. Right click on the halo object and hit extract here. It will then extract the halo file so it can be used. You should now have a folder with a halo icon in it. Move that icon to your halo folder in your drive. Once in their, double click it and it should start halo. If this is a pain to understand, just email me and I will help you. Or if you have xfire, include your user name.

Yep, it's legal to use one of those files from gamecopyworld as long as you bought the cd and the game is installed on only one pc. I use Alcohol 120% to mount my games so I never have to bring cd's to LAN's (as many of you can probably guess, with 8+ people using the same cd, someone's bound to go home with some missing stuff).
