In Halo 2 the D-Pad should be used to do tasks insted of moving like in Halo 1. They said MC could look around corners, we could hit the D-Pad to witch ever side the corner is. An down and up can be other stuff we don't yet know about. Nice idea, right?

I think I read the d-pad was used for melee combos....I don't know if it is true....Nice Idea, however.

this has been discussed before and the majority of people DO think that this will happen.....

D-Pad LEFT and RIGHT = peak out left and right

D-Pad UP = sprint

D-Pad DOWN (?) = going prone (?) (lying down)

I thought the same exact thing as Nightshade000, but i was also thought Master Chief cant go prone, it would be -blam!- for reasons i don't feel like explaining.

Hold D-pad up makes perfect sense, now that I really think about it. They say you can't side step or fire weapon, only turn while sprinting. Left hand hold up on D-pad, right hand turn left and right and look up and down, while holding up on D-pad right and left trigger ain't gonna work.

no i agree that prone WOULD be -blam!-.......and we both know why lol no need to explain....i was just saying that if they DID have it, then they would use that button.....

to answer the other guy's question.....no Bungie has NOT officially said this regarding teh D-Pad assignments......but think.....

1) peaking and sprinting are confirmed

2) what other butttons are there that they could use (the answer is none)

conclusion: these button assignments are SO perfect that it would just blow my mind away if these were not the exact button assignments for Halo 2

What about using the D-pad to give your marines directions? There were so many times during Halo 1 where I wished I could have given them directions to stay put.

Going prone would bring a whole new level of Corpse Humping. =)

How could you deny someone the rights to lie down?
