Does anybody feel that the sentinels were to weak in halo 1? I think that if the foreunners were so technologically advanced they could have come up with better battle-robots then the sentinels. I mean come on, if they could create a giant halo thousands of miles in diameter they ought to have more firepower then some toy robots armed with laser pointers. I think we ought to see "Sentinels: Version 2" in the halo 2. They would be armed with missles and they could fly into you for a melee attack. They would be like ultra-dangerous banshees (except you couldn't fly them, of course). What are your thoughts on the subject, denizens of New Mombasa?

the sentinels were pathetic in Halo 1 and they should be better equipped to deal with the flood in Halo 2

Yeah the Sentinals did SUCK, it would be a good change for sentinles to be harder to kill or something. Because in the Halo1 you could take out a Sentinal with a Rocket, Pistol,Plasma Pistol, or EVEN BETTER AND SWEETER! Two well placed Shotgun Rounds. LOL!

The reason the sents suck is becuase guilty spark was not the true Main Ai for Halo..If GS was the robot boss of Halo why would it need the index or a higher level to actavate the index like the MC. My geusse is that the sents are eather medical or repair robots not ment for fighting.

Cypriss is right the sentinals where ment to do one thing and they did it well and that was to controle the infection form of the flood....The sentinals were never meant to fight combat or carrier flood or made to fight a 1/2 tone spartan....BTW anyone exetp for me think the forruner (as a race) were really really big as in titans.

I think the forerunners were about the same size as humans or elites, because most structures seems to be built by creatures that size.
I do not think the sentinels were the only forerunner robot, just the only ones spark could activate. If there are more kinds of robots, sentinels would be the robot's grunts

Yeah and i think the sentinels lasers are more like cutting tools than weapons, and they don't seem to need heavy weapons because the moment the flood escape, 343GS activates HALO, cortana said that 343GS could somehow activate the instalation without the index(which he cannot retrive himself). so even when sentienels are getting blown out of the sky, 343GS wouldent care(sentinels seem more like care takers than warriors)

I don't believe the Sentinels were meant as combatants at all and I have a very simple reasoning. 343 is nigh indestructible and if the forerunners were going to construct something for combatting the flood they could have easily done the same for the Sentinels.

I follow that reasoning with the idea that the Forerunners didn't trust their AI's with anything militaristic in case the succumbed to Rampancy. The Sentinels to me, seem like hastily altered repair drones that 343 guilty spark had converted to fulfill his need.

Further, before the books I believed that the Forerunners were ancient humans, now after reading the books I'm sure of it.

AYE, but there are many odd things about this like sizes of doors, symbols, and many things I can't remember. But they can be explained by this:
Forerunners were a collection of species, not unlike the covanent, Humans were one of the races. The prophets probably wanted to believe that they were onece part of that Collective, and wanted to restore the old system of government or whatever, so they estrablished thye Covenant to reach there goals of becoming Forerunnners once again.

Your theory is totally possible For all we know the Forerunners could have been the head of the Covenant at one point long ago.

Architecture is not always indicative of size. Go into any Catherdral and it will be really driven home. Why are they three stories tall of empty space? It's so expensive and inefficient to do that... but it looks majestic and it also has a spiritual meaning.

In essence, perhaps the corridors were wide and tall because that was the style at the time, a monument to the sheer might of the Forerunner. I've been in a couple of million dollar houses and trust me... the grand spaces are needed to hold in their grand egos.

sentinels were crap, 1 charged up bullet from the plasma gun, aimed straight at them, and they were dead, they were to easy, but, the sentinels werent forerunner..were they? i thought that they were the guardians of the flood, and of 343, and 343 was a Forerunner A.I...well, thats wot i thought anyway!

It's really a source of fascination once you think about it, a great mystery to be solved that can draw your heart into the fray. Did you feel a cathartic release when you escaped Halo? Did you let your anger boil when you saw the people of Earth being bombed out of existance?
