Subject: Halo PC sniping versus console sniping; which is easier?

"Snipe to Live, Live to Snipe"

is sniping easier on the PC than for the console? just wondering cuz for the PC, you do get to you a mouse, which makes sniping like point-and-click. Well, is it?

Yup. But then there's also the lead/lag, which makes things either easier or harder depending on your target.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I prefer the mouse but I've seen some godlike snipers in Halo 3.

H1 and Halo Custom edition name: madkiller92
xfire:madkiller92

Pc seems easier, it has a keyboard and mouse.
Though it's really messed me up on halo 2, I keep accidentally leading on it now.

cuz on halo 2, if your target reticle is on their head and you fire, it will hit them no matter what (except if there is lag) They did fix the sniping system a little bit on Halo 3. You have to lead a little when the target is far away.

Once you've figured out the lead on a low-lag snipers game with no vehicles and a supply of challenging opponents...-blam!- yeah.

Though it's really hard to find a good server. You'll find more modded ones than classic games now.

Thats not "fixing" it. It's realism. Sniper shots, despite being much faster than standard guns, still don't fly at the speed of light.

Well if we're talking about something like Halo 2/3 (especially 2) on the Xbox versus sniping in HPC, well, it's easier on the Xbox thanks to auto aim.

On top of that, sweep sniping makes it incredibly easy (you know, where people try show off their skills by showing how they can land a snipe without even aiming at the target.)

but auto aiming is for noobs. good snipers don't use it, they rely on their own skill.

and sweep sniping is not that easy. were you talking about it on the console or the PC?

Kindly refrain from Frog-Blasting my Ventcore.

I would say PC, unless you're playing with auto-aim on the x-box, which is just lame (in my opinion).

auto-aim doesn't help you at all, it actually makes you sniper worse (i tried it).

Depends on if you are talking about the magnetism(reticle follows target) or the auto correction. (bullets occasionally bend and do silly things)

H1 on both PC and xbox have magnetism, but not much auto-aim, and swipe sniping doesn't work so well.

H2 on xbox has about the same magnetism, but a considerable amount of auto-aim that allows for swipe sniping. Apparently this auto-aim is disabled in vista if you use a mouse, but I've never played it.

They both have their pros and cons. I'd go with PC shooting though.

Well I saw a Halo PC vid on youtube and it showed that Halo PC had magnetism. He shot his pistiol near the person againts a wall from like a yard of distance. When he shot the bullets traveled even closer to the body by every shot. He was not even aiming at this person with a turret but still killed him and the reticule was pretty distant from him.

wow. i never knew that. but that does make sense. and that is probably why the pistol was so uber powerful in halo 1
