I know this is not a new topic, but it is one that continues everyday throughou the entire day and night....Halo gamers who talk an enormous amount of crap and the unfailing Tkers. I've been playing Halo on-line for about seven months now, I know not long...but a girl who luvs to play, and everyday, the majority of the time, I come across the same bunch of Tkers that take the fun out of playing, which is fustrating! Some of the Tkers I see on a regular basis are: Me=King, his sister, His Sister, Jasmine, Anonymous, Me, Mr. Roboto, Me Hate You, Herpes, and a number of more Tkers. My question is why can't something be done! I do remember when Bungie Admins. came on, but why did they go? I know this is a babysitting job, however, Tkers need to be penalize for their wrong doings and their $#&% talking! Tkers show no RESPECT to anyone! They have no REMORSE! Tkers enjoy ruining everyone's fun! Another question is, does Bungie owners or Halo makers read these forums? Some sort of Action needs to be taken! I have read a few of the forum concerning Tkers and know that others have the same feeling as me....Frustration! So please help me to understand why Tkers come on ruin the game, talk $#&%, click off and rejoin, and continue to be supported to kill their fellow team mates. Team players, is this something that is going to continue in the future or can something be done? PLEASE help me understand. Also, I know their are going to be many who will "flame" me, but hopefull you can be mature enough to be respectful to a girl, to answer my question in a mature manner. Thank You.

OMFG YOU OWN !!!

This topic rocks!! I hope everyone (especially the devs) read this and do something about TKers!

This tking epidemic has gone on too long on the official Bungie servers!!

  • 06.30.2004 2:06 AM PDT

If you want to suggest improvements for the game then this is not the place. You should head over to the Gearbox forums as Bungie has nothing to do with Halo PC.
However, you may want to try out Halo: Custom Edition - there are much fewer idiots using it.

Thank you goweb. I have taken your suggestion and posted this topic on Gearbox forums. I can only hope action will be taken. There has been a numerous amount of post written; I hope someone w/ the power can lessen this problem. Now or in the future, I hope Tkers will be put to a STOP, so those who want to play as a team can play with enjoyment.

what is a Halo hottie

Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter) describes the "Halo Hottie" :

It is a very attractive female human that plays Halo PC. Thier natural habitat usually has a killer PC gaming rig, and a really fast internet connection, but watch out..if you rile this lovely creature up.. or mess with her when she is playing Halo PC... WHACK!!! SHE'LL BITE!!!

KROIKY!!!!!

Is is considered ok to tk if your team is a bunch of morons and annoy the hell out of you? Or what if they're talking s*** about you or someone else? I tk sometimes, but only if someone in the game has made me mad about something.

btw, there is nothing that could be done about tkers. If a name gets banned, they can just make a new one and some right back. People also have alternating IP addresses, so you couldn't block that IP.

No, it's not okay to TK in those circumstances. TKing is a highly immature response; if your teammates keep letting you down or talking smack about you and your friends, the first response should be to ask them to stop. If they don't, then either leave the game and find a server with fewer -blam!-tards on it or volunteer to join the opposing team... then, when you shoot 'em, it's not TKing. :)

I was going to say that TKing is never acceptable, but there are two cases that I can think of where it is:

* if you have EXPRESS PERMISSION by the player to do so. (I mean that the player told you by chat or voice that it's okay.)

* by accident, assuming you follow up with an apology as soon as you can without risking the team's position. I'll include in here those cases where you're trying to stop the flag carrier and your teammate steps into your shot just as you fire... though if you're doing that too often, your teammates will be justified in thinking that you've got other ideas.

btw, there is nothing that could be done about tkers. If a name gets banned, they can just make a new one and some right back. People also have alternating IP addresses, so you couldn't block that IP.
Apparently HaloPC and HaloCE may ban by product key... so a truly horrific TKer may end up permabanned from most dedicated servers soon.

-- Steve hopes that this is coming soon.

Heres an Example:
Driving a warthog, and you stopped to let somebody in, and it slides really slowly and kills them. Thats accidental. Also, when your driving anything (especially hog) and people run right in front of you, it cant be helped. Of course you should say like DAMNIT SRY to them, but usually many people take it in stride.

That's cruel. Cruel and unusual. No wonder you're a mod. :)

If you're talking about server admins then I have no idea, as HomeLAN are no longer doing it.

Hahaha MORIARITY... That was an elbow-tickler or knee slapper... whatever something is being riled because you made a funny. I wish it was only short enough to use in a game. The next time someone makes a crack about me being a girl or gaming and being over the age of 12, I'm gonna go all ballistic on their shizzle (whatever that means).

Anywhoo... As frustrating as Tk'ing is here are some ideas for "tout le monde" to think about (if you don't know what that means - its french, find a dictionary and look it up)...

1. There is no need for tk'ing period. If your hog, shee, or ghost freaks out or someone "warps" in front of you and you take them out... APOLOGIZE, quickly, preferably to counter any possible tk'ing that may ensue or before MY SCREEN gets flooded with "WTF's" and "&#$*# YOU" and all of that other colorful language.

2. In the heat of the moment with nine thousand fuel rods, twenty seven banshees, four hundred hogs, thirteen snipers, a bazillion needlers, and two ghosts (all chasing you while your team is camping at base).... a take moment, take a deep breath, look to see if anyone is of the same color is near by, then let loose. Look for before you unload forty seven billion frag and plasma nades and every assault rifle clip in a eight two mile radius. If by some chance some team member decides to drop in during that EXACT second: See #1.

3. If you really don't want to deal with TK'ers take the time to look for servers with the friendly fire setting turned to OFF. I know personally these are rare gems, but are definitely worth the hunt. It is nice knowing that you don't need kid gloves, and won't be bothered with the nuisance of falling hogs, or dorks who couldn't aim a rocket launcher with a 1000x scope. If you use the gamespy servers that are packaged with the game, you can usually see this, if you wait a few moments before joining. Besides if you have a few favorite tk'ers that just love to test their fav weapon on your red OR blue bottom, it is good way to avoid said armedius tardus.

In closing, we are all human, (although tk'ers may take on a covenant visage in bright sunlight) and gaming frustrations are all too common these days. Sometimes it feels good to just let loose, it might even be tempting to be bad. But, don't. I'm not sure many ppl are aware of this, but there is a little mode known as "Slayer". Take your deathmatch there. The rest of us like our CTF as fair a fight as possible.

Ja.
