personally i think its not a case of -blam!- being a bad thing, but accusing osmeone of being -blam!-, you are saying they are fake, and a liar if they dont admit it... if i were ever to use such sayings that would be the reason... and the white thing, thats another issue... how come there are heavy laws agaisnt us calling black people things (even when we are saying them but not because of their race, but because you dont like them) yet a lot of them (not all) go around thinking they are all that, calling us milkybars, and white bird crap..... if they are gonna make laws like that, make them work both ways. i say... not that i actually say these things, but i know peple who do and i odnt like being insulted in those ways myslef...

You know, the profanity filter doesn't filter out swear words in French.

-blam!- this is a funny post. I think the profanity filter makes sense-- who wants to hear people swear anyway?

well i don't need to. If i want to hear cursing i'll just play halo against my friends. or i just watch a Samuel L. Jackson movie. He's the only person in the world that can curse and swear and actually make it sound cool.

I would argue that being retarded isn't a good thing. There's nothing wrong with it, but definitely not a favorable thing to be.

and it isnt particulary good being -blam!- anyway... not beign -blam!-. but living the life of a -blam!-... being hated....

Only small minded -blam!-tards hate -blam!- people.
And being retarded may not be something that you'd want to be, but using it as an insult is insulting to anyone who is affected by it, which surely can't be a good thing.

Bingo, that's my point. The best insults are offensive, and offensive isn't good. hence, the best insults are no good. You have to resort to using language that offends only the person you are talking to, a "clean" insult. Still highly effective, but not offensive to other people.

most people arent that creative.... and basically all insults are like that... if you think about it really, a gimp, some poeple are gimps, you could say someone had acne, but thats also something you may well have....being fat aswell, being poor, homeless, everything. if you guys are gonna be that strict on things then there are basically no insults at all.... but the world cant work like that.. the world wouldnt work without insults... we could all resort to using lame insults like ninnymuffin.... what would the world come to....

You can have offensive insults that are only offensive to the particular person you are talking to. That's OK. Anything that is also offensive to another group isn't OK.

heres what i say: hes right, people arent fooled by it... there are too many ways to go round it... so have it like the word noob, if u say a swear word, get a warning , then bans and stuff... we could perhaps convince founders to do so with their chapters, and have an FAQ outlining the definition of the swear words...

a special editing system usually edits cursing...not moderators...theres too many posts all the time to moderate them all...but it could be different for bungie.net.
