Sending me a group invite or some kind of other pointless, time wasting advert gets you blocked. Don't bother wasting your time. kthnxbai

I know i'm probably asking this in the wrong place, but hopefully there's someone here who can give me a little bit of help.

Halo 2 Vista installs fine, starts up fine, but when I try to download my Gamertag Profile that's where things get ugly and irritating. I enter my Winodows Live username & password in and hit "Sign In", or whatever it is. After a few seconds I get the error message 0x80151912. I look it up and it says that I have a pre-release version of the game installed. This isn't true as my copy of Vista is pretty much new, the only other game I have installed on here is Crysis, a WoW trial my friend made me download and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. I haven't downloaded a PC Beta game in my life. Ever.

So I manually download the patch and an update for the Games for Windows Live interface. I start the game up and now I get a box saying:
"The procedure entry point _MSSDisableThreadLibraryCalls@4 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll"
The box comes up twice and I have to press "OK" both times. After that the game starts up.

So I type my username and password in again, hit sign in, and get the same error message.

I have tried searching for help on Google (I also made a thread here) but so far I haven't found any help.

Thanks for your time.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I have no idea if this will help, but I hope it does.

I tried that earlier. Sadly it didn't work. Thanks anyway though.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Are you behind a corporate/school/college proxy or firewall?

I'm just at home. The only Firewall that's on my computer is the one built in to Windows. And after checking it just now I can confirm that Halo 2 isn't blocked.

The only other Firewall I can think of is my Router, but if my Xbox can connect without any problem with my Router then I don't know why my PC can't.

A couple more questions:

1. When you originally installed H2V, did you try tray & play?(playing while installing)

2. Have you tried reinstalling H2V?

1- I didn't use Tray and Play.

2- I have installed the game about 3 or 4 times.

If it says you're using a pre-release verion, does this mean that you perhaps downloaded a pirated version of the game?

If you got it at the store, maybe you could exchange your disk for a new one.

Call Microsoft then. There have been problems with CD keys and other problems with copies from Amazon.

Well it says that my version of Halo 2 Vista is version 1.0.0.11028, so i'm assuming that's not a Beta version.

24 and female.

I agree, I would call Microsoft and see if they can do anything for you. Amazon isn't the greatest place to buy things off of, *shudders* I can only imagine the horror stories that are even worse than yours. The version might not actually be a beta version, but you are still getting that message, so that right there would be a cause for concern. Beta or not, things happen, files get corrupted, they disappear, they were never there in the first place. Knowing Amazon, that dvd is probably made by someone that just so happened to have the real dvd and decided to copy it for all to pay for, which than turns out as bad copies of the game, because someone doesn't know how to copy right, and than many angry people.

Anyway, call Microsoft, they might know what's wrong, and will usually walk you step by step into fixing the problem.

maybe this link might help, maybe not, there's only one way to find out...

I'm going to have a word with Amazon. I just noticed the back of the case isn't written in English.

Edit: I brought another copy and it works perfectly fine. Must have been a problem with the other version I had.
