Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."
Well, in Halo 343 GS gives us the most evidence we have concerning the Forerunner. He makes it seem we are them or at the very least Forerunner like... He chooses us for the job of reclaimer, and not just the MC but another marine before him as well. He also speaks about the Covenant as the 'other species' on the installation acting like we and him are the same. He asks the MC why he did not come better prepared... why he is using such primitive weaponry, why he does not have a class 12 armor suit. Halo also seems just to human. It has the perfect enviroment, with every single terrain feature we as a race would love. The structure for the most part seems built to suit us. 343 GS says that they rings were used once some 100,000+ years ago to stop the Flood meaning whatever life there was was killed off, including possibly the Forerunner themselves. Whoever the last reclaimer was all those years ago, asked 343 GS a question, "If he were him, would he do it?" and 343 GS acts like we are the same person and answers the question now to us some 100,000 later after having considerable time to ponder the question. Other evidence of we being the decendants of the Forerunner is in First Strike, when Cortana had but moments with the Covenant weaponry on one of the crusiers, she re-engineered it to make it more deadly. She acted like it was a common sense thing to do with the technology and why the Covenant had not discovered it. Now, this shows us how the Covenant though stealing and copying Forerunner technology has no idea really how to really use it. Yet when we have a little time with it we know how. A possibly example to why perhaps we do not remember our past could be a side effect of the ring's activation, or perhaps we were some small colony or a last resort. Sorta like in all those old Sc-Fi pics how Earth is destroyed and we have this really small group who escape to a hidden world to live on and continue the race. Again, the reaon why we would not know what has happened to our past could be because of the rings. And one of the most damaging of all info was 343 GS in "The Maw" level where he says he is "So happy to have a record of all our lost time. Human history is it? I shall enjoy every moment of its catogorization." A history of the lost time between the rings last activation and now perhaps?
