I have a question. The only time I ever really encounter the banshee is during social. This said, most people on social stop caring. As soon as I make a run for the banshee even calling out "Dibs on Banshee", I get betrayed, or even stuck, and in one occurance power drained by a jealous team mate who wanted it more, I just got there first. Sometimes they'll take pot shots if you fly away, but every now and then you get a real persistant jerk who just wants to take you banshee down to about 10%. Do you betray them back, just sulk off filling out a negative player review, or do you let them have it from then on. I myself prefer getting right in there face, stalking them. 9 times out of 10 they betray you, do this one more time, and wa la, magic boot button. While this is very satisfying, we usually loose a large gap in the team (the offender is usually one of several guests). Is this a good idea or what?

Ugh, not cool! Your best bet is to go into Social BTB with a team of XBL friends who you know and trust. Going in alone is only fun for me if I have absolutely no intentions of winning -- because you usually don't, no matter how well you do. BTB is all about teamwork. No one individual can completely win or lose a game for the rest of the team, which means that if you want to win, you need to be with people you know and play well with (and trust).

That said, people who purposely betray the team are actively hurting it. Booting them is always a good idea. If it is an accidental betrayal, however, then you are only hurting yourself.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

Twice last night, I encountered Banshees I couldn't laser (admittedly, last night wasn't a very good night for me anyway). Quite an odd coincidence seeing how in several thousand games, getting matched against you was the only other time I had seen this. You make this thread and now everyone is scraping the ground behind the towers and sand dunes on sandtrap and boosting quickly to cover when exposed.

Hahaha.... I was in those games with you. Imagine my surprise when I ducked behind the rock for early cover at the beginning of the game, and the enemy Banshee came right around and started firing on me as if he knew where I was! Combined with fire from the enemy Warthog, I was unable to escape.

22 kills and a running riot on the respawned Banshees, though -- I'm pleased with that :-D

I'm going to recommend this thread to the person we were playing with(Reclaimer I believe) who picked up the banshee twice, and got boarded within the first thirty seconds both times.

It's faster to take the chopper on sandtrap...
Well, I have to disagree with you there; I've timed it and come up with times within a half-second of each other over that distance multiple times.

Besides, there are other obvious and good reasons not to take away one of the more powerful vehicles in the game away from your teammates, solely to leave it for the other team to grab off 15 seconds later. Know what I mean?

We just need to instigate more elitism and Mythic shenanigans.

Nobody has said it yet:

China called, they want their wall back...

But we won't give it to them, its too useful.

How exactly did you get 3 Vehicular manslaughters with only what...15 kills? I know there is some glitch in there, but exactly how does it work?

There is a glitch that if you get a splatter spree, then start using your guns to kill people, every kill is a splatter spree. Same with the vehicular manslaughter. I am not sure if you can get 6 splatters, then start gunning, or if it has to be exact, but I have got quite a few splatter sprees (mostly in ghosts) by doing it accidentally.

Foman- Your banshee threads have really helped me, they have improved my piloting, and teamwork while in the banshee a lot.

Like in this game- I was able to get to the banshee first, avoid the spartan laser at the start, and when the laser finally got me, I timed the respawn of the banshee perfectly and was able to pick it up again.

Exactly right, and if you'll notice my social medal chest, you'll see that I did not count those two extra medals in my vehicular manslaughter total in the first post of this thread (6 medals in my chest, but I actually only earned 4 of them -- the other two were the glitches that you see in the video). Thanks for the explanation Reyk!

Killer game, hawk! +22 k/d, with 21 kills in the Banshee, a frenzy, and a skyacker.... very nice! Even more importantly, that helped your team to a win :-D

Thanks. In the banshee I can get a lot of kills through the plasma cannon, and fuel rod cannon. I need to work on splattering players more, and where/when to boost. Yesterday I boosted in a heavily wooded area which turned out to be a bad thing because I couldn't maneuver out, and ended being boarded(although I ended up boarding him back a couple seconds later)

Remember back in Halo CE when you could take down a Banshee with an AR? And it esploded in fire? I was sorta awestruck when I went back and played again a while ago.

There are a few people I've seen in Halo 3 that prefer to take it down with duel SMGs. Surpringly, it works a fair amount of the time. They say the dual smgs are much better on Banshees than BRs or ARs, which seem to do more damage to a spartan. Do you agree?

Two important things to remember:
- Your character is a result of your conduct.
- Sense of humour trumps common sense everytime.

Any advice for the Banshee plasma cannon spread or leading the fusion cannon shots?
