I would like to consider myself a good pilot. A really good one, in fact, that's my Halo specialty. But it doesn't look like that on the leaderboards, with 6 Hornet kills and 74 Banshee. But I do a TON of flying in Custom Games, and I have found plenty of tactics that help me to fly, I can do good on Multiplayer, it just seems that I can never reach the Banshee or an "inexperienced" pilot steals it.

What I'm getting at, is that your guide was one of the best I have seen yet, it has reinforced a lot o my techniques. Congratulations to you, I appreciate you taking the time to write this guide.

Charge...BACKWARDS!

Read the whole thing. Which is an accomplishment, to some people. Good guide. It's just that, whenever I try to splatter, I always manage to hit stuff, and hurt myself. Or when I'm flying low on the ground and boosting (to be fast) I get hurt by clipping the ground. Any advice, or is this unavoidable?

What do you expect? You are the Ace of the sky, and other pilots wish to learn from the master.

I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death.

I disagree with the power weapons bit (well, sort of). I think that there is a definite exception when the spartan laser is involved. Although it can be great for your team to have it to immobilize the other team's warthogs and mongooses, this is a task that the banshee excels at itself. And, frankly, if you are in possession of the spartan laser you will be far safer than normal anyhow. If your splaser teammate goes down it's not going to look too good for you. Not only this, but having the spartan laser is great for countering hijacks. You can immediately advert disaster by destroying the newly skyjacked banshee the minute your feet hit the ground.

I support MLG.
I support Flag-Running
I support BR
I support non-broken gameplay

I do not support the AR.

Suppose you slip-up and you get sky-jacked, is there anyway you can get them off or effectively re-jack the Banshee?

The only thing I can ever do when I get sky-jacked is boost straight into a wall and hope that my Banshee blows up before they can get control of it.

If you do this, you are wasting the laser. No one should be grabbing two power weapons. Especially in a BTB game. You have 7 other teammates to utilize. Don't try to do everything yourself.

As he said, you best hope is to jam it into a wall and hope you can re-jack before he has a chance to get away. Other than that your best bet is to immediately take advantage of the close proximity of the banshee and try to stick it or (if you have it) quickly use the spartan laser on him before he can escapes. Better to destroy the threat as soon as you can than hope that you can re-take the banshee via skyjacking later on.

Also, I have another little tip; whenever you enter a mancannon on Valhalla, hold RB at all times; you never know if a stray banshee might be flying along your path.

No, you're essentially ensuring your own safety as well as making sure you have an ace in the hole if you get skyjacked. Plus, if the other banshee is being a nuisance, you can just fly to cover, drop out, laser said banshee, then join the fight again with practically no time wasted. The banshee can chase down and effortlessly destroy mongooses and warthogs aren't too much of a problem as long as you get the first few shots in. Simply put, if your team has the laser, that teammate will eventually die and you will get lasered.

I strongly disagree, and if that has been your experience, then you are playing with poor teammates. I suggest you get a decent BTB team together and allow everyone to play their roles.

A Banshee pilot should never carry power weapons unless it is to get them back to the base. BTB is a team game, and taking away a major power weapon from a teammate "just in case" you get skyjacked is, in my opinion, a selfish action that will cause more losses than wins.

It is important to remember that winning in BTB is not all about your stats. Taking a laser just so you can preserve your own life when you screw up and get skyjacked spells out doom for your teammates and nearly ensures that you will never win against an organized team -- especially one that makes effective use of its own vehicles.

I agree with Fo here. Don't hold up a power weapon in a vehicle. You limit the effectiveness of your team in that circumstance, especially in a BTB game. If you are keeping the Banshee alive, then you should be able to gain/maintain map control, which makes the power weapons even more effective. If you're in a Banshee and holding the laser, a solid Warthog driver/gunner combo will be tougher to take down.

For information about my GT, "bjb yo," or the Linked account here on B.net, "Nub Cutter."

Teamwork and communication are definetly the best way to win with a Banshee.
I remember getting skyjacked on Valhalla while my team was in control of the Laser.
I advised the guy with the laser to shoot down the Banshee while I was being skyjacked.
Better to kill it then to give it to the other team, right?
But somehow, when he turned and fired, he missed the Banshee. But he hit the player that was skyjacking me.

You're missing the point. It's not all about preserving my life. The freshly hijacked banshee could cause far more damage to your team than a simple rampant mongoose or warthog. This is also the most efficient method of killing a skyjacked banshee as they almost always immediately fly away as fast as they can to prevent being skyjacked back themselves, giving you a perfect shot on him/her.
