Hello Foman, I like yourself, am also an avid banshee fan, although I don't claim to be as good as you might be. I perform well in any circumstance, but I always have trouble on heavies sandtrap. I stay low, but how am I supposed to avoid so many spartan lasers, missle pods, gauss hogs, and scorpions? It just seems like the banshee is not supposed to be used here, but I love it so much. One problem I have is fighting the scorpion tanks. Should I just avoid them? I do not want to just ignore them when I could stop teh m from destroying my team, and I try to attack with help so I dont just get blown out of the sky. When I attack I always come at a good angle, but they have so much health I can't ever finish them, and I can dodge their shots, but then the shields recharge! Help plz.
In order of best to worst, IMO:
Get the laser guy to take them out.
Get your team's tank or Wraith to take them out.
Get your team to draw their attention, then attack from another angle. Attack quickly, duck for cover, wait until they're looking elsewhere, repeat. Take advantage of the slow turn rate of the tank's turret. I've managed to take out a tank by literally colliding with it while firing point-blank and moving in an awkward circle around the tank such that he could never track and shoot me (since he turns so slowly), but that's hardly the best course of action, since you're moving slowly and are easy to shoot, stick, or board.
this is all very useful, but I am talking a bout 0 teamwork, jumping into a quick game of btb, no mic, to blow some time. There isnt team communciacation at all, I was just wondering if there was any piloting strategy in Heavies on maps like Sandtrap where a lone banshee pilot can be useful and get enough kills to be worth flying around.
