Well, it all depends. In my bedroom, I have the http://www.altecmm.com/prod_cat_video.asp?region=northam altec lansing speaker for my 27 inch in my room (the subs shaped like a bomb :p) and in the TV room (that is fully enclosed) I have a 52inch Hitachi big screen built into the wall, complete with what may turn out to be 7.1 surround sound (right now its 5.1). Two speakers built into the back walls, towers up front, the center, and my dads Bose subwoofer.

I have a 27" Inch Sony HDTV 'tube' Tv, and it doesn't even compare to my 50" DLP

1. Your 27" is not HDTV, and therefore does not do Halo in Progressive Scan (480P).

2. You probably don't have a Component-quality connection cable on your lil' TV.

If you saw this setup on a Sony tube HDTV it would make you sick over your purchase of the DLP. In fact, I think I must advise for your sake that you do not do this--instead just remain blissfully ignorant. I'm only half joking; it really would have made me sick if I'd already purchased the DLP. I just don't want anyone else to make the same mistake.

Kenwood has a Fineline series for gamers--it's model 710 (has some additional letters, but the number is 710). It's 700 watts, 6.1, and the deal-maker for me is that it has Dolby Digital Surround decoding for any stereo headphones you hook up to it. If you haven't heard this before it's incredible--for the first time it sounds as if headphone sound is coming from outside of your head, from the environment. I checked this system out last week and it was crystal clear even on full blast, with plenty of bass. I'm going to get it shortly; Best Buy has it for $625. In the alternative, I had been looking at Spherex 5.1 for Xbox, which has some nice high-quality sound features, but it doesn't have the headphone Digital Surround decoding.

Sony doesn't even make a 27" HDTV--the smallest is 32" [HS32510]. I understand if you are a little protective of such a large purchase, and perhaps why you would be reluctant to do so, but why don't you go to a good electronics store and see for yourself? Either Sony will do--either the KV-40XBR800 or the HS36510. But I warn you, it will make you sick over your purchase--it's more than a matter of degree but one of kind.

I have a 37" Sony Wega or however you spell it. Nothing to rave about. But my neighbor has a 50" Flat Panel Plasma with surround sound right next to his modem. I won't be able to play live on my 37" because my modem is on the other side of my house.

65 inch Mitusbishi Widescreen HDTV with a Yamaha surround sound set w/woofer...It's gonna be godly. I've gotta hurry up and get cable, and xbox live too. I barely pre-ordered Halo 2 today...sad, I know.

Xbox Live Gamertag: Opey Master

Posted by: link 1264
And yeah, Opey could probably win that game without using his BR. Best SMG user in Halo.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ RCG ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I already have a 60 inch widescreen projection screen with 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound.
I'm just going to keep the trademark Blue Controller S with the regular headset. Then I dim the lights, pull up my most comfy bean bag chair and sit about 3-5 feet away from the screen. Oh yeah!
You didn't purchase any of these TVs, but your parents did? That explains why you don't know what you are talking about. Sony does not now nor has never made an HDTV in 27 inches; you must be confusing the Trinitron badge with HDTV--they are not synonymous. If you are still confused post the model number and I'll send a link showing you you're wrong. Bottom line: Samsung DLPs suck compared to the Sony 36 and 40 inch tube HDTVs. Don't waste your money on that garbage, y'all.
57' HDTV, w/ 5.1 dolby digital surround is what I will hopefully have before 11/9/04, already got the 5.1, so just waiting on 57'
A fifty seven footer, wow, thats pretty substantial man, I didn't know they even made fifty seven foot screens, thats bigger than a movie theatre screen I think, thats like an imax screen.
" = inch
' = foot
