Out of all the videos about Earth in Halo 2 Earth looks kinda disappointing (not graphic wise it looks great that way). Think about. Humans should be more technologically advanced (no offense bungie). Sure they can do space travel, have super strong soldiers (spartans) but look at the weapons. They still use guns. For mass destruction they still use nukes. In the E3 2003 where you get to see a human city in that time they didnt seem to advanced from what modern cities look like today. Sure the roads look better but look at the buildings. They arnt anymore advanced then the ones today (from the outside).

What do you think?

I think that was done on purpose to make you feel more like you belonged.

The UNSC's military technology is very weak as well. Today's US Military is much more organized and has better weaponry.

you don't like that the outside of the biuldings are advanced!!! What did you want! the whole thing to have glass walls that couldn't break like hard glass. What is there to advance on the outside of a biulding!!!

Earth 2552 would b the same. There would still be pollutionand poverty. Same old problems we have now.
And the UNSC have tried laser weaponary but they found projectile weapons were still much more effective. Also they are more advamced than you think, the Warthogs 'Roll cage' uses magnetic repulosros as a cushioner. And some how humans have been able to build a cluster of buildings alike a bee hive without it all collapsing under it's own weight.

I think Earth cities look fine as is. Bungie is going out of there way to make a kick ass game and you are already moaning about how some buildings look. Geez. Once you start playing you won't notice it.

To be quite honest I always thought of Earth to look like that in the future, More so with the future Halo tells.

There are two groups of people in the world - those that hope, and those that wish. The first group hopes that nothing bad will happen. The second group wishes that they are there when it does. Which one are you?

I understand what you are saying man, but I don't really think he's moaning per say. It's just another person with an imagination and idle time to wait for the real thing.

anyone remember in the E3 2003 demo when the pelican is flying down past that building in the first 3-5 seconds of the movie? it looks like its an entire city above the city below.....ity doesnt look "advanced" but its more cluttered which i think is what earth will turn out to be...cluttered with cities being built above cities......

i don't think it should be too crazy. It should still feel like home, like something that you would die for. If it was all crazy and really "futuristic" like the jetsons or something it just wouldn't be the same.

Besides feeling more in touch with this civilization of tomorrow, you have to take into account how long weapons stay around. Guns were first seen on the battlefield in the 14th Century. Look how long the sword lasted on the battlefied. Plus, few things are more powerful than an uncontrolled fusion reaction, so Nukes are still viable weapons in 2552.
