You guys know about that movie with the MC dual weilding and other stuff? Well, in the very beggining the MC has a shotgun and the little blue lights on the aiming thing are green. So yes, the shotgun will be in halo 2.

The picture is real. I've seen an offical one on Kinkizo of whatever it is called. It was also inside multiple gaming magazines that had articles on Halo 2.

Whatever, it looks really really nice.

The green thing is called a sight. Believe me I know everything about shotguns because I hunt.

I hunt as well and I can say ou don't know everything about them just because you use them. It takes some experimenting and some studying up on them to learn everything. I'd know, I go nuts on gun knowledge. =)

Good. Then you would know that the notion of an pump-action shotgun 500+ years from now is rediculous. How is it that the present shotgun used by the US millitary is a Benelli M4 semi-auto shotgun, and yet in the future we have reverted back to pumps. Even if they use a 8 gauge load, they can still match that with better mechanics and construction to handle the force of a 3" mag 8 guage slug loaded shotshell. Ill give bungie credit for relocating the magazine tube to the top of the gun, but why use a tune style mag when you could just design the gun around a bullpup layout and use a clip style magazine similar to the unfinished H&K CAW shotgun?

You know what? I can tell you why Bungie did all that.

It's called a video game and their product. They can make it anyway they please. Plus having the shotgun be semi-auto would probably unbalance the game a bit. Then with making it like a bullpup styled weapon people might actually mistake it for the MA5B or something, so they kept a very "shotgun" like profile for the gun.

It's more for gameplay balancing. Bungie's goal is not to make the most realistic shooter experience available. Is the idea of a pump action shotgun 500 years from now ridiculous? Of course, but I think Bungie realizes this, but if the shotgun were semi auto, then it would be a little too powerful.

Thank you genltemen, I was waiting for that kind of response. I understand what you mean, I just try to get a rise out of the faithful.

BTW, whoever is Bungie's millitary advisor is should be fired.

I think that I've seen that exact same picture before, except MC was holding the BR. I seriously think that the shotgun was put in by someone else, pretty sure it's supposed to be the BR in that pic. The shotgun is going to be in Halo 2 though. In that one screenshot in the tunnels (where the guy on the right is dual-wielding a plasma pistol and an SMG) the guy that's dieing is dropping a shotgun. You can see it falling with all of his grenades and stuff.

For having so much knowledge about guns you people seem to lack in some areas.

OF course they have a pump shotgun, for one thing it balances the gameplay, and for another, its just cooler. give the US fifty years and we'll be using a modified/improved version of the current USAS-12 (Thats a FULL-auto shotgun with a twenty round drum clip based of the design of the M16.) But in all reality, in 500 years we wont even use shotguns in the military. We'll be using rounds similar to the XM29's grenade launcher mod. A huge slug that tracks distances to a target, and when it gets, say, five feet from it, it blows up into dozens of shards. Screw shotguns, those things are AP.
