did anyone else read the new EGM where it says there are rumors about being able to play as the covenant in campaign mode? im not sure if someone else posted this already but i think that would be cool. it would almost be like 2 games in one, one where you fight as MC and save earth and then one where you play as an elite killing spartans and marines and the like. that would be an awesome goodie for bungie to add since it has taken so long to release halo 2. just my 2 cents...

I kind of like that idea, running around and yelling,"Wort Wort Wort!"
Now that's the definition of fun.

"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I can't accept not trying." - M. Jordan

It would only be tight if Bungie wrote a reverse story line where you have to meet and stop the master chief....and he was the goal of the game.....You would meet in the game and kill marines along the way....BUngie would never write all those scripts though....I reallly doubt that would happen...I thought about that before....It would be tight though

that would be cool but it would take so long. being an elite would be soooo fun. i can beat the crap out of the grunts and not get persecuted because i am higher rank then them. then i run through the level saying Wort Wort Wort

Playing as an Elite would take away from the Halo 2 experience. The whole point of Halo is that you are a human, although a tough one, but a human that is fighting for a species' survival against an unstoppable force. " Halo is a story about soldiers who have their backs up against the wall and are ultimately trying to set themselves free. " If you were to play as an Elite, you would take away the desperate feel of the war that is in Halo. So, no, not playing as an Elite. It just wouldn't be Halo.

I gotta agree with Hikaru here, where is the fun in fighting a war where you outnumber your enemy?? I wanna fight as the underdog.

ummm, i would almost consider the covenant the underdogs here since they have no hope of winning. its a video game, you know master cheif will pull out a victory in the end and the covies will get whats coming to them. common sense people. im just saying it would be fun to play as the bad guy, everyone like a good bad guy.

Actually Bungie has been known for screwing things over for the good guy. Especially with a story like Halo's.

The Covenant lost 500 ships and the space station Unyielding Heirophant, the Ascendat Justice flag ship, plenty of ships at Reach, and an armada that followed the Pillar of Autumn to Halo, and the Prophet of High Truth calls all of those losses a minor set back.

Seems to me that we are pretty screwed. My money is on either a peace treaty with the Covenant or their totally wiping out the Human species.
